Welcome to the disk-based version of the Super Starter Pak. All the programs on this disk are present in both their C-64 and C-128 versions. Unlike previous editions of this disk that came with a separate booklet containing the documentation, this version contains all the documentation files on disk.
If you've gotten far enough to read this, then you probably have a good knowledge of how the menu system works. If you've never used this ReRUN menu system before, I would encourage you to print these instructions. Just press Control-P to print.
To use any of the programs on this edition of the Super Starter Pak, just select the program name from either Menu 64 or Menu 128. You'll be given the option to run the program, read the documentation, copy the program to a work disk or none of the above. All of the programs create data or text files, so it's recommended that they're copied to work disks.
First on the list is our word processor, RUN Script by Robert Rockefeller. There's two documentation files that are accessable from the menu system for RUN Script. We encourage everyone to print those instructions and keep them handy when using RUN Script.
Complete with spell checker (RS Speller) and dictionary maintenance (Dict Maint) programs on this disk, it's favored for the added versatility it offers over many commercial word processors by Commodore users. Whether you're using the C-64 or C-128 version of RUN Script and its related programs, remember that there are five documentation files, so be sure to load and print each of them using the menu program.
Another exceptional program on this disk is Robert Rockefeller's RUN Paint, a graphics paint program that budding and experienced artists alike can use. With either a 1351 mouse or a joystick, you access its numerous drawing tools to create either med-res or hi-res screens and pages (multiple screens). Both C-64 and C-128 versions are included.
Long-time RUN contributor John Ryan's RUN Shell has proven to be one of our most popular disk utilities of all time. If you want to rename a lot of files, or copy files using one or two disk drives, then this is an essential addition to your software library.
Next on the list is RUN Term 64 and 128, both of which are full-featured telecommunication programs for 300 and 1200 baud modems.
If keeping track of items, inventories or names and addresses is important to you, be sure to check out RUN File on this disk. Both C-64 and C-128 versions of this popular database are included.
The overall popularity of spreadsheets accounts for the popularity of RUN Calc 64 and 128, found elsewhere on this disk. The C-128 version of this spreadsheet was written by Mike Konshak, and the C-64 version was written by Trent Busch.
If you have a need to print mailing labels with your Commodore and a printer, you're in luck. This Super Starter Pak disk offers Bob Kodadek's Label Base program. As with the other programs on this disk, there is both a C-64 and a C-128 version.
