Do you get frustrated trying to figure out how many songs will fit on one side of a cassette tape? If you're like me, using a calculator to add the minutes and seconds gets truly aggravating. Now you can use Cassette Timekeeper to take care of it for you.
You choose which tape length to use (30, 60, 90, or 100 minutes) and the screen will show you the side's published time and reel time, which is how much playing time the tape actually has. Then you will be asked if the program should add 5 seconds per song for cuing time between songs. Type either Y or N.
Answer the prompts that follow, and the program will take care of the rest. It will determine how many of the songs you want to tape will fit on the side and how much time (positive or negative) will be left on that side. To escape from Input mode, press up-arrow then return.
When you have finished entering the playing times or when the program has determined that there is no time remaining, the Status box will change color and tell you whether there is enough time for all the songs, the number of songs timed and the number chosen. Press return to exit to the menu.
Since some manufacturers offer more reel time than others (as much as five minutes per side) you can experiment with the variable T% in lines 790-820 to reflect the longer playing time of the brand that you use.
