A typical day for JoAnne Springer is sure to include a vendor meeting since she's responsible for reviewing hundreds of products and keeping abreast of industry news. "Meeting with developers and vendors keeps me up-to-date on what's happening in the industry. From press releases to products, it's my job to identify the keepers -- those which make computing fun and rewarding."
Before making the move to a consumer computer magazine, JoAnne started her publishing career at Hippocrates Magazine where she was responsible for researching and writing a section of a book on medical conditions. Now, JoAnne works predominantly for the Buzz section, sharing her experiences with new products, and occasionally writes feature sidebars. "I love to write," JoAnne explains, "and the fact that I am able to write about something I love to do -- new product research and the personal computing experience -- is pretty cool."
A hands-on editor, JoAnne prefers jumping in waist deep and trying out a new product's functions and features for herself. She views computers as a indispensable, powerful tools that let users enhance their lives. "As multimedia computers have become the largest category of computers sold, the computing possibilities are endless. Now more than ever, users can integrate computers and other information technology products into their lives."
