- YOU ARE USING A JOYSTICK THEN INSERT IT INTO pORT jOY 2. eNSURE THAT THE
- CASSETTE UNIT IS KEPT AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THE tv. nOW SWITCH ON
- BOTH YOUR commodore 16 AND tv AND TURN UP THE VOLUME. tHE SCREEN DISPLAYS
- THE 'ready' SIGNAL WITH A FLASHING CURSOR.
- note: iT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO TURN THE commodore 16 OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN
- BEFORE LOADING A NEW PROGRAM. tHIS CLEARS ALL THE MEMORY LOCATIONS AND
- MINIMIZES LOAD ERRORS.

- 1. iNSERT THE CASSETTE INTO THE CASSETTE UNIT.
- 2. eNSURE THAT THE TAPE IS FULLY REWOUND TO THE BEGINNING.
- 3. tYPE load THEN PRESS THE return KEY.
- 4. pRESS play ON THE CASSETTE UNIT.
- 5. tHE TITLE SCREEN WILL APPEAR ONCE THE GAME HAS LOADED.
- 6. pRESS stop ON THE CASSETTE UNIT.

- sPARKIE IS LOST DEEP IN THE HAUNTED CATACOMBS UNDERNEATH THE RUINED MONSTERS.
- aLL SEEMS LOST AS GHOSTS AND GHOULS BEGIN TO GATHER IN THE DARK. bUT WITH
- YOUR HELP sPARKIE CAN MOVE AROUND THE CATACOMBS ILLUMINATING THE WALLS.
- lIGHT UP THE WHOLE ROOM AND THE GHOSTS IN THAT ROOM ARE EXORCISED AND THE
- EXITS REVEALED. hIDDEN IN SOME ROOMS ARE TREASURES TO HELP sPARKIE ESCAPE
- AND A MAP IS CREATED AS HE MOVES AROUND. bUT BEWARE THE EXIT IS GUARDED.

- tYPE IN A NUMBER 1 TO 8 TO SELECT THE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY.
- tYPE IN k FOR KEYBOARD OR j FOR jOYSTICK (JOYSTICK IN PORT 2).
- mOVE sPARKIE AROUND THE MAZE LIGHTING UP THE WALLS BUT AVOID THE GHOSTS.
- cOMPLETE A ROOM AND THE GHOSTS ARE 'EXORCISED' AND THE EXITS REVEALED. tO
- REPLENISH YOUR ENERGY YOU MUST SHOOT THE EXORCISED ECTOPLASM BEFORE IT
- ESCAPES FROM THE ROOM.
- tHERE ARE TWO CENTRAL BOXES IN EACH ROOM, THE UPPER BOX IS 'OUT OF BOUNDS'
- BUT THE LOWER BOX IS AN AREA SAFE FROM GHOSTS AND SOMETIMES CONTAINS A
- LIGHTNING BOLT. pICK UP THE LIGHTNING AND FIRE IT AT THE GHOSTS TO SLOW THEM
- DOWN, BUT BEWARE sPARKIE CAN ONLY HOLD IT FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT
- DISAPPEARS.
- a FLASHING DOT ON THE MAP TO THE RIGHT OF THE SCREEN SHOWS sPARKIE'S POSITION
- IN THE CATACOMBS. oTHER DOTS INDICATE WHERE THE TREASURE IS HIDDEN. gATHER
- THESE AND AREAS OF THE MAP WILL APPEAR ENABLING YOU TO FIND THE EXIT.
