  15. .    VIDEO.80.V6 allows you to organize a sizable collection of videotapes.
  16. It will quickly find space for any new show which you want to record.  In
  17. addition you will be able to track and manage the catalog of existing shows.

  19. .    VIDEO.80.V6 is designed to support a collection of up to 300 tapes and
  20. up to 800 separate shows.

  23. .          SETTING UP YOUR FILE

  25. .    Each VIDEO.80 can be customized for the particular VCR you have.
  26. You will need to have this information.

  28. .    Maximum Recording Time of your VCR
  29. .    Tape Counter Values
  30.  
  31. .    The tape counter values will be used by VIDEO.80 to estimate the
  32. ending tape counter value when you add a new show.  You will have to know
  33. the value of your machine's tape counter at the end of every ten-minute
  34. interval.  This will require recording a full-length tape at SP (or B1) speed
  35. and noting the counter values at each ten-minute interval.

  37. .    You don't have to know these tape counter values before you begin to
  38. explore VIDEO.80.  You may estimate a set of counter numbers since you are
  39. allowed to update this information later if you want.

  41. .    VIDEO.80.V6 requires that you number your tapes 1 through 300.  The
  42. use of other marking systems is not supported.

  45. .    When you are ready to enter your own data for your tape collection
  46. you should follow these steps.
  47.  
  48. 1)  Go to the VCR Info Section and set the type of machine (VHS or Beta).
  49. 2)  Set the maximum recording speed for your machine.
  50. 3)  Enter estimated (or if possible actual) tape counter values.
  51. 4)  Go to the Add New Shows section and add blank tapes equal to your
  52. .   collection.
  53. 5)  Go to the Modify Info Section.  Select 'Modify Any Tape'.
  54. .   Start with Tape 1.
  55. 6)  Select 'Update Segment 1' by entering a 1 at the prompt.
  56. 7)  On this segment select 'Update All Fields' by pressing '\'.
  57. 8)  Enter the information requested about the first show.

  71. 9)  When finished press the 'plus sign' to move to the next show
  72. .   on the first tape.  Again select 'Update All Fields'.
  73. 10) To move to the next tape press the 'plus sign' one extra time.

  79. .    When VIDEO.80 is loaded the main menu will be displayed.  There are
  80. seven types of functions available to you:

  82. 1. ADD NEW SHOWS         2. MODIFY INFORMATION        3. INQUIRY FUNCTIONS
  83. 4. FILE MANAGEMENT       5. PRINTOUT OPTIONS          6. VCR INFORMATION
  84. 7. EXIT THE PROGRAM

  86. .    VIDEO.80.V5 uses a pull down menu system.  You will use the cursor
  87. keys to select the main function area.  (RETURN) will pull down the menu
  88. for the choices in each area.

  90. .    If you make a mistake the (ESC) key will return the menu to the
  91. 'pushed-up' position.  The (HELP) key is active from the main menu and
  92. will review part of these instructions for you when pressed.
