OK, Here are some basic things to remember when cheating, er uhm Putting
the balance of Crusaders in your favor:
(This was a rushed job, but we are happy with the results!)

The main way our editor works is it shows you the Total Hitpoints, or Total
Spell points or Total gold. You adjust this number to what you want, and we
adjust what you character currently has to the maximum.

Example: Barbarian CAN have 100 Hp, but after the recent fight he has only 34.
We show you HitPoints: 100. <----You adjust this number to 150 and Barbarian
will now have 150 HP out of 150 hitpoints. (Isn't that simple?) We did not
feel like coding what you currently have and could have, but simply due to time
constrants, we did not. (If you want them, do them yourself. <G>)

Or, Example 2: Same as above only you just want Barbarian to only have his max
of 100 HPs. You load the editor,save and we rewrite the current number of HP to
equal whatever the maximum is.


We will let you edit everything, HP's, spellpoints,monsters killed (why not)
Gold, etc. BUT we did not have our editor stop you from making common errors:
******************VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT YOU READ THIS*********************

1) Do not give your character TOO many points in skills, that when your
character gets promoted he/she can not distribute the points that you earn!
Remember you can only have 100 points in the Skills area and if you give 100
in all categories, you will not be able to give out points upon a promoted
level, therefore getting in an endless loop.

2) In the attributes area: Do not go over 18! The game MIGHT give you a point
later, and 19 or 20 is fine, but WE promise nothing if you have a 20 and
Crusaders decides to give you +1 point in Personality what will happen.

3) Do not, until told it's ok in a future update, edit a chracter who is
a: cursed   b:Stoned   c:Poisioned   d:blinded   e:any affliction like said.

The basics of using the editor:

Load the editor and file from the command line like so:

cheat savegame.dbs  (note we do not make a backup of this file, so you should!)

The "+" and "-" keys add or subtract points to whichever area you are in.
PG UP , PG DN scroll through your 6 party members.
The the INS or insert keys to toggle between 1,10,100,1000 increments.(note we
do not reset the increments back to 1 when you go to another area)
Hit S to save the file. (It will rewrite the savegame file so use a back up!)
Hit Q to quit!

Infact, we promise nothing from this editor. This is not warrenteed nor a
guarantee of anything. We do not promise this product to be bug free or even
virus free (all though we hope like he!! it is virus free <G>). We ask for
no money upfront or afterwords, UNLESS you feel it's worth say, $5 bucks. WE
are not asking for money, but we did stay up late nights and buy a new MASM
book to accomplish said task. (I also kept from playing the game until we
finished our editor.)

WE will be shipping another editor soon that will let you edit your character
and what spells and items they have. Also look for the listing of items in
Crusaders of the Dark Savant (Reg. and TM of Sir Tech and D.W. Bradley).
(Some people were just in a rush for this one!<G>)
