  6. FROM  THE EDITOR     PRAISE GOD! For He is worthy to be praised. As  I  sit
  7. and write this letter to you, my heart is overjoyed at His faithfulness and
  8. His mercy and His love. After all these years, and all the failures, God is
  9. still God and He never changes.
  10.       As you can see, SALT has changed its name and format! Because we have
  11. been  allowed to take excerpts from various publications it seems  that  we
  12. are  more  of a digest than anything else. In case you wonder why we  quote
  13. from  so  many  resources, the reason is a simple one. There are  boundless
  14. Christian  publications today and to subscribe to all  these  would  put  a
  15. strain  on  most pocket books. Since we have been blessed to  receive  most
  16. popular  publications, and most recently the Christian  News,  we  can  put
  17. excerpts  from these other sources into a single, easy-to-read publication.
  18. As  for  the  format, we no longer have access to resources  which  allowed
  19. 11x17  format printing, so we have decided this is the most economical  way
  20. to go.
  21.       Our desire is to make known the Lord Jesus Christ and His work on the
  22. cross, and to minister to
  23. those who are in bondage that by the power of Jesus Christ they may be  set
  24. free.  We  live and work to honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ  and  to
  25. bring the light of the gospel to those who are in darkness.

  28.  During the weekend of August 14th, Bill and I had the privilege of meeting
  29. one of our
  30. computer users, Tim Hyde. We spent 3 wonderful days with him, his wife  and
  31. family in Athens, Tennessee. Tim and Misty have a burden for youth involved
  32. and  in  bondage  to  Satan.  Tim felt a call on  his  heart  to  start  an
  33. electronic  bulletin board as a ministry to these teens. By Sunday  evening
  34. Bill  had  Tim's system up and running and as of this newsletter, the  Last
  35. Days  BBS is taking off. Also, while there, we had the opportunity to  meet
  36. with another of our users, Pastor Darrell Vaughn. Darrell has had a BBS  up
  37. for  sometime and when he heard about SALT and Last Days, he too  felt  the
  38. call  of  the Lord to help in this area of ministry. Darrell has graciously
  39. accepted  the position of Counselor for SALT Ministries. Their BBS  numbers
  40. are posted later in this newsletter.

  42.                         ANIMAL SACRIFICE NOW LEGAL
  43.                    Supreme Court Allows Animal Sacrifice
  44.                                      
  45. WASHINGTON  D.C. (EP)     The U.S. Supreme Court ruled June 11,  1993  that
  46. followers  of  Santeria, an Afro-Catholic religion, have a legal  right  to
  47. practice ritualistic animal sacrifice. Though the decision applies directly
  48. and  only  to followers of a small minority, the reasoning of the  decision
  49. has greater significance in the church-state debate.
  50.       The  High Court unanimously determined that the Church of the  Lukumi
  51. Babalou  Aye had been unfairly singled out by City laws in Florida  barring
  52. the sacrifices that are at the core of the Santeria religion.
  53.       An  estimated  70,000 Cuban-Americans in South Florida  practice  the
  54. religion.  Santeria's followers kill chickens, goats, ducks,  turtles,  and
  55. other animals to appease their gods.
  56.       Justice  Anthony  Kennedy,  writing to  the  court,  struck  down  as
  57. unconstitutional, the Hialeah City laws in question. "Our  review  confirms
  58. that the laws in question were enacted by officials who did not understand,
  59. failed to perceive, or chose to ignore the fact that their official actions
  60. violated the nation's essential commitment to religious freedom," he said.
  61.       The case began in 1987, when the priest who heads the church bought a
  62. building  in  Hialeah to be used for religious services. Hialeah  responded
  63. with new zoning laws banning animal sacrifices inside city limits.
  64.      The law specifically banned killing of animals for ritual purposes. It
  65. did  permit animals to be killed for commercial purposes, for pest control,
  66. sport, science and population control in animal shelters.
  67.       Kennedy  said  a  law  which  forbids a religious  practice  must  be
  68. justified  by  a  compelling government interest and must  be  neutral  and
  69. applied across the board.
  70.       Kennedy  said the primary purpose of the Hialeah law was to  surpress
  71. Santeria's  religious  worship. "The legitimate  governmental  interest  in
  72. protecting the public's health and preventing cruelty to animals  could  be
  73. addresses by restrictions stopping far short of a flat prohibition  of  all
  74. Santeria  sacrificial practice," he said. The decision could have  a  major
  75. impact  on  the  way the First Amendment is applied in cases involving  the
  76. religious liberty of unpopular sects.
  77. IS THE MASONIC LODGE A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION?
  78.  
  79.          "The Masons now emphasize the fact that they do not foster any
  80.    specific religious, political or ecumenical creeds. As a result, the
  81.   organization has constantly attracted more and more members. During the
  82. past ten years, their membership has increased by almost a million....About
  83.           one out of every twelve adult American males is a Mason
  84.    (Robert J. Tylor, World Book Encyclopedia, Vol. XIII, pp. 209-210)."
  85.       From  the  charitable  outreach  of the  Shriner's  Hospital  to  the
  86. fraternal image portrayed by the Blue Lodge (i.e. Craft Masonry),  and  its
  87. branches  of Job's Daughter's, DeMolay, and the Order of the Eastern  Star,
  88. few can ignore the far reaching influence of the Lodge of Free and Accepted
  89. Masons. Its membership, as indicated above, transcends all social, as  well
  90. as  religious barriers, even expanding to accept a multitude of  professing
  91. Christians, and many ministers of the Church. However, is the public  being
  92. told   the   truth  by  Masons,  or  is  there  evidence  of  a  deliberate
  93. misrepresentation of the nature of Freemasonry?
  94.       First  of  all, it can be established that Freemasonry  is  indeed  a
  95. religion,  despite  all  the  claims to the  contrary.  In  Coil's  Masonic
  96. Encyclopedia,  no  less than twelve pages, consisting of over  15,000,  are
  97. used  to  demonstrate that Freemasonry is indeed a religion (pp.  158-170).
  98. Below are given quotations from other authoritative Masonic resources  that
  99. collaborate this same assertion:
  100.         "Masonry is a worship...it is the universal, eternal, immutable
  101.  religion, such as God planted in the heart of universal humanity (Albert
  102.   Pike, Liturgy of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry,
  103.                        Part Two, pp. 167, 198-199)."
  104.      "As Masons we are taught never to commence any great or important
  105.                          undertaking without first
  106. invoking the blessing and protection of deity, and this is because Masonry
  107.                         is a religious institution
  108.               (Albert G. Mackey, Manual of the Lodge, p. 40).
  109.       "Every Masonic Lodge is a temple of religion; and its teachings are
  110.                          instructions in religion
  111.                   (Albert Pike, Morals And Dogma, p. 213)
  112.       "There has been a needless expenditure of ingenuity and talent, by a
  113. large number of Mason orators and essayists, in the endeavor to prove that
  114.  Masonry is not a religion....On the contrary, I contend, without any sort
  115. of hesitation, that Masonry is, in every sense of the word....an eminently
  116. religious institution - that it is indebted to the religious element which
  117.    it contains for its origin and for its continued existence, and that
  118. without this religious element, it would scarcely be worthy of cultivation
  119.                          by the wise and good....
  120.        "Masonry...is, indeed, a religious institution; and on this ground
  121.    mainly, if not alone, should the religious Mason defend it (Albert G.
  122.       Mackey, An Encyclopedia of Freemasonry, Vol. II, pp. 617-619).

  124.                 THE MASONIC LODGE AND KABBALISTIC OCCULTISM
  125.  
  126.       Having thus seen from Masonic sources themselves that Freemasonry can
  127. justifiably be viewed as a religion, one can further question remains to be
  128. asked:  Does the Lodge reflect Christian thought, and if not, what form  of
  129. religion  does  it   reflect? Again, Masonic sources provide  us  with  the
  130. answer:
  131.       Freemasonry is not Christianity...It does not meddle with sectarian
  132.    creeds or doctrines, but teaches fundamental religious truth (Albert
  133.                               Mackey, ibid).
  134.  "Drop the theological barnacles from the religion of Jesus, as taught by
  135. Him...and it becomes Masonry, Masonry in its purity, derived as it is from
  136.   the old Hebrew Kabbala as a part of the great universal religion of the
  137.          remotest antiquity (J.D. Buck, Mystic Masonry, p. 119)."
  138. "Masonry is a search after light, that search leads us directly back to the
  139.   Kabbala. In that ancient and little understood medley of absurdity and
  140.  philosophy, the initiate will find the source of many (Masonic) doctrines
  141.             (Albert Pike, op. cit. p. 741; parenthesis added)."
  142.       Although  the Bible is accepted in most Lodges as one  of  the  three
  143. "Great  Lights", it is merely seen as one of many "holy books", and is  not
  144. really the source of Masonic beliefs and practices at all. According to one
  145. Masonic source in particular:
  146. "...Blue Lodge Masonry has nothing whatever to do with the Bible. It is not
  147.    founded on the Bible. If it were, it would not be Masonry (Digest of
  148.                         Masonic Law, pp. 207-208).
  149.       Freemasonry  instead finds it ultimate roots, according  to  its  own
  150. sources, in the mystery religion of ancient paganism (reference: Holy Bible
  151. -  Masonic Edition, p. 21). More specifically, its doctrines can be  found,
  152. as  mentioned above by Albert Pike, expressed in the Kabbala,  which  is  a
  153. textbook  of Jewish mysticism and witchcraft, and is rejected by Christians
  154. and  orthodox  Jews  as  well. From the Kabbala are  derived  such  Masonic
  155. teachings  as  the eternal pre-mortal existence of the individual  soul  as
  156. part   of   the  "Universal  Soul",  as  well  as  its  ultimate  goal   of
  157. reconciliation with its former union with the Divine (reference: Albert  G.
  158. Mackey,  op.  cit.  Vol. 1, pp. 375-378). This very closely  resembles  the
  159. doctrine  of  reincarnation,  or  the transmigration  of  souls,  which  is
  160. becoming  so popular in today's thinking, yet it does not reflect  biblical
  161. theology  in the least (See Hebrews 9:27). Other teachings and  beliefs  of
  162. the Lodge include astrology, Druidic philosophy, the veneration of Egyptian
  163. deities  such as Isis and Osiris, as well as connection with the  fertility
  164. cults  of  ancient  phallic  worship. These are  thoroughly  entrenched  in
  165. occultism, and are to be rejected by the Christian in accordance with Deut.
  166. 18:9-14, and a host of other biblical passages as well.
  167.                                      
  168.                           THE ANCIENT WORSHIP OF
  169.                              THE PAGAN SUN GOD
  170. "...All things owe their origin to Only One Thing...The father of that Only
  171.                            One Thing is the Sun;
  172.                          its mother is the Moon."
  173.       This quote was taken from the Tabula Smaragding, an ancient tablet of
  174. Hermetic occultism, which is cited by occultist and 33rd degree Mason Manly
  175. P.  Hall  in  his book "The Lost Keys of Masonry, as one of  many  possible
  176. origins  of  the concepts of the Masonic religion (p. 20). The evidence  is
  177. undeniable that Freemasonry is indeed, as Hall has thus suggested, a modern
  178. revival of pagan sun worship.
  179.      The worship of the sun originated in the days just following the flood
  180. with  Nimrod, son of Cush, who is accredited with the organization  of  the
  181. first  world  empire  under himself as its king and god,  as  well  as  the
  182. supervision of the erection of the infamous Tower of Babel, the focal point
  183. of  ancient  pagan  religion  (see Genesis 10:8-10;  1:1-4).  According  to
  184. Babylonian  tradition, Nimrod was brutally murdered  tly  reincarnated,  or
  185. reborn  into  the body of his son, Tammuz. This was symbolized in  Chaldean
  186. lore  by  the setting of the sun in the west, and its rising in  the  east.
  187. Eventually, the sun actually came to be worshipped as the Supreme God,  the
  188. author  of  light  and  of life, and the religion thereof  was  diversified
  189. amongst the ancient civilizations under various monikers as a result of the
  190. confusion  of  languages described in the 11th chapter of Genesis.  To  the
  191. Moabites,  the  sun-god  was known as Chemosh  (see  I  Kings  11:33),  the
  192. Ammonites, Molech (see 1 Kings 11:7), to the Egyptians, Osiris, or On  (see
  193. Genesis 41:45), and to the Assyrians, Baal.
  194.        Through  Scripture  repeatedly  condemned  participation   in   such
  195. idolatrous  worship (see Exodus 34:14), the chosen people  of  Israel  were
  196. especially  warned  by God against involvement in the veneration  of  Baal,
  197. whose  barbaric  rituals  required, among many other  heinous  acts,  self-
  198. mutilation  (see  I  Kings 18:28), ritual prostitution  (see  Judges  2:17;
  199. Jeremiah  7:9,  Amos 2:7), and the offering of infants as burnt  sacrifices
  200. (see  Jeremiah 19:4-5, Deut. 12:1-4). Through the latter practice of  human
  201. sacrifice,  as  well as other secret ceremonies, the participants  believed
  202. themselves  to  have become initiates into the "Mysteries",  thus  ensuring
  203. their  place among the gods after their death. God's extreme hatred of  the
  204. religion and practices of the worship of the sun-god, which is found to  be
  205. the  root  of all forms of the occult, was exhibited on numerous  occasions
  206. when  He  severely  judged  and punished the nation  of  Israel  for  their
  207. consistent  apostasy into this very thing (see Deut. 8:19-20). It  is  also
  208. evident  that  much  the same judgment will be meted out  upon  the  "Great
  209. Prostitute", or "Mystery Babylon", in the last days just prior to  Christ's
  210. second Advent (see Revelation 17:3-6; 18:1-24).
  211. "Our brethren met on the highest hills, and the lowest valleys, the better
  212.  to observe the approach of cowans and eavesdroppers, and to guard against
  213.     surprise.      So then, because our ancient brethren -the old sun-
  214.  worshippers-met on the highest hills to worship Baal, or the sun-gun, and
  215.  Freemasonry being that same worship revived, it must necessarily follow,
  216.   that Masonic Lodges must be held in the highest rooms of buildings, to
  217.   carry out the coincidence (Albert Mackey, Manual of the Lodge, p. 43 -
  218.                         emphasis in the original).
  219. It  is certainly no "coincidence" that the Bible speaks specifically of the
  220. "high  places  of  Baal" (see Numbers 22:41, Deut. 12:2-3; Jeremiah  19:5),
  221. which  Mackey admitted above were the inspiration for what are now  Masonic
  222. Lodges. Furthermore, the temples of Freemasonry are everywhere adorned with
  223. symbols  of  Baal  and  other heathen deities, as are also  the  ceremonial
  224. aprons  and  additional regalia worn by Masons during their various  secret
  225. rituals. It is also significant to note the actual construction of  Masonic
  226. Temples  themselves, being situated with an alter facing due  east.  Again,
  227. Mackey explained:
  228.        "The orientation of the lodges or their position east and west is
  229. derived from the universal custom of antiquity. The heathen temples were so
  230.  constructed that their length was directed towards the east the entrance
  231.     was by a portico at the western from, where the alter stood so that
  232. votaries approaching for the performance of religious rites, directed their
  233.   faces toward the east, the quarter of sunrise. The primitive reason for
  234.   this custom undoubtedly is to be found in the early prevalence of sun-
  235. worship, and hence the spot where the luminary first made his appearance in
  236.   the heavens was consecrated in the minds of his worshippers as a place
  237.       entitled to peculiar reverence (Albert G. Mackey, ibid. p. 55).
  238.       Interestingly  enough, all this corresponds exactly  to  one  of  the
  239. "detestable" practices of apostate Israel that was shown to Ezekiel by  God
  240. in a vision:
  241.       (The  Lord) then brought me into the inner court of the house of  the
  242. LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and  the
  243. alter,  were about twenty-five men. With their backs to the temple  of  the
  244. LORD  and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun  in
  245. the east.
  246.      He said to me, 'Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter
  247. for  the  house  of  Judah  to  do the detestable  things  they  are  doing
  248. here?...Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look  on  them
  249. with  pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen
  250. to them (Ezekiel 8:16-17a, 18).
  251.                                      
  252.                         THE OCCULT ROLE REVERSAL OF
  253.                                GOD AND SATAN
  254.                                      
  255.       In  classic  occultism,  Satan,  or Lucifer  has  traditionally  been
  256. associated  with  the  sun,  the  bringer  of  spiritual  light.   Esoteric
  257. philosophy  teaches that it is this "great being", not the God of  the  Old
  258. Testament,  that  was the true redeemer and benefactor of mankind  and  who
  259. later possessed the body of Jesus of Nazareth to rescue the Jews from their
  260. idolatrous  worship of Ilda-Baoth (i.e. Jehovah), and to instruct  them  in
  261. the  truth  of  their inherent or potential divinity. For  example,  occult
  262. medium Helena P. Blavatsky wrote in her book The Secret Doctrine:
  263.        "Once the key to Genesis is in our hands, it is the scientific and
  264. symbolic Kabbala which unveils the secret. The Great Serpent of the Garden
  265.         of Eden and the "Lord God" are identical...(Vol. I p. 414)
  266.  "Stand in awe of him, and sin not, speak his name with trembling....It is
  267. Satan who is the god of our planet and the only god. In this case it is but
  268.  natural....to view Satan, the Serpent of Genesis as the real creator and
  269.      benefactor, the Father of Spiritual mankind... An 'adversary' to
  270.        Jehovah...he still remains in Esoteric truth the ever loving
  271.       'Messenger...who conferred on us spiritual instead of physical
  272.               immortality....(ibid Vol II pp. 234-345, 245)".
  273.      In Morals and Dogma, Albert Pike, a known Luciferian, wrote:
  274.       "To prevent the light from escaping at once, the Demons forbade Adam
  275.  to eat the fruit of 'knowledge of good and evil," by which he would have
  276.   known the Empire of Light and that of Darkness. He obeyed; and Angel of
  277. Light induced him to transgress, and gave him the means of victory; but the
  278.     demons created Eve, who seduced him into an act of Sensualism, that
  279.        enfeebled him, and bound him anew in the bonds of matter....
  280.       To deliver the soul, captive in darkness, the Principle of Light or
  281.    Genius of the Sun, charged to redeem the Intellectual World, come to
  282.   manifest Himself among men....it but put on the "appearance" of a human
  283.  body, and took the name of Christ the Messiah, only to accommodate itself
  284. to the language of the Jews. The Light did its work, turning the Jews from
  285.   the adoration of the Evil Principle, and the Pagans from the worship of
  286. demons. But the Chief of the Empire of Darkness caused him to be crucified
  287.          by the Jews (p. 567 emphasis in the original manuscript.)
  288.       According  to  Pike, it was the DEMONS not GOD,  that  barred  Adam's
  289. access  to  the  Tree  of  Knowledge, thereby  perpetuating  his  spiritual
  290. darkness (compare to Genesis 2:15-17). However, an unnamed 'Angel of Light'
  291. persuaded  him to rebel against the 'demonic' dictate (compare  to  Genesis
  292. 3:1-4),  and,  as a result, Adam was 'enlightened', or initiated  into  the
  293. 'true  religion', which  of course, is allegedly that of Freemasonry.  This
  294. "Angel of Light" later embodied itself into human flesh (compare with  John
  295. 1:1,14),  to  act  as a redeemer in turning the world from  its  idolatrous
  296. worship of the Edenic "demons".
  297.      It is interesting to find the enigmatic "Angel of Light" identified by
  298. Scripture in II Cor. 11:14 as none other than Satan himself. Is this indeed
  299. to  whom Freemasonry owe its allegiance? Elsewhere in the same volume  Pike
  300. answered in the affirmative:
  301.      "Lucifer, the light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the
  302.   spirit of darkness! Lucifer, Son of the Morning! Is it HE who bears the
  303.    light, and with its splendors intolerable, blinds feeble, sensual or
  304.  selfish souls? Doubt it not! (Albert Pike, ibid., p. 321; emphasis in the
  305.                             original manual)!"
  306.       To the non-Mason, the meaning of the above statement would appear  to
  307. be  somewhat  elusive,  and indeed was written to accomplish  exactly  that
  308. objective.  However, when we remember that initiates into the  religion  of
  309. Freemasonry regard it as 'The Light', it becomes apparent that Lucifer, the
  310. 'light-bearer', is therefore the custodian, or guardian, of Freemasonry  as
  311. well as all other forms of the occult.

  321. The Impact of Criminal Prosecution on Child Victims
  322.       Some  observers  of the justice system assert that  participation  in
  323. judicial  proceedings can cause deleterious effects and psychological  harm
  324. to  sexually abused children. Others, however, maintain that testifying can
  325. serve as a catharsis for child victims and contribute to their recovery  by
  326. restoring  a  sense  of  power and control. There has  been  some  research
  327. addressing the fundamental question of whether the adjudication process  is
  328. in fact harmful to children.
  329.       In  one study reported to date that administered psychological  tests
  330. directly  to  child victims whose cases were being adjudicated in  juvenile
  331. and/or  criminal  courts, Runyan et al. found that testifying  in  juvenile
  332. court  may actually be beneficial. (Too few children testified in  criminal
  333. court  to  allow  meaningful analysis.) Children  whose  cases  were  still
  334. pending  criminal disposition however, did not improve on the psychological
  335. measures, and the researchers hypothesized that the delays and continuances
  336. that  characterize  criminal prosecution can cause  additional  stress  for
  337. child victims.
  338.       This  hypothesis  was  challenged, however,  by  the  findings  of  a
  339. subsequent  study  by  Goodman and her colleagues.  Based  on  measures  of
  340. behavioral adjustment provided by non offending parents of sexually  abused
  341. children,  Goodman  et  al.  found that children  tended  to  show  greater
  342. improvement  with  time. Further, parents of children  who  testified  were
  343. significantly more likely than parents of a matched control group of  child
  344. victims  who  did  not  testify to say their children  had  been  adversely
  345. affected by criminal prosecution; some specifically  targeted the length of
  346. the adjudication process as a source of stress.  At the final follow-up  11
  347. months  after  the  children  first  testified,  differences  between   the
  348. "testifiers" and the controls had diminished, although a subset of children
  349. still  showed negative effects; some of these children had testified, other
  350. had not.
  351.       Research  in this vein continues. The Office of Juvenile Justice  and
  352. Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), for example, has funded a large-scale study
  353. to   examine the effects of innovative techniques on the trauma experienced
  354. by child victims.

  389.   The  dictionary  defines divination as, "the practice  of  attempting  to
  390. foretell   future  events  or  discover  hidden  knowledge  by  occult   or
  391. supernatural means. (Random House Dic.)
  392.      God's Word goes a step further by showing that people who "divine" are
  393. controlled  by  or possessed by supernatural spirits which enable  them  to
  394. receive  information  beyond the human realm at a  particular  time.  God's
  395. prophets  receive their divine revelation by the Holy Spirit. On the  other
  396. side   of   the  spectrum  are  demonic  spirits  feeding  information   to
  397. fortunetellers and sorcerers.
  398.      Luke tells us of such a case in the book of Acts:
  399. Acts  16:16   And  it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain  damsel
  400. possessed  with  a spirit of divination met us, which brought  her  masters
  401. much gain by soothsaying:
  402. Acts 16:17  The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are
  403. the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
  404. Acts 16:18  And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and
  405. said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come  out
  406. of her. And he came out the same hour.
  407.       The girl was known as a fortuneteller or soothsayer in the community.
  408. Although she spoke the truth about Paul and his party it was not her intent
  409. to  help  them  with the proclamations. The very fact that a woman  of  her
  410. reputation would choose to advertise their ministry was a terrible reproach
  411. to the Name of Jesus.
  412.       As  Paul  become more and more grieved in his spirit the Holy  Spirit
  413. revealed what was going on and he rebuked the spirit of divination  in  the
  414. Name  of  Jesus Christ. He didn't speak to the girl but to the spirit  that
  415. was operating through her.
  416.                                GOD WANTS YOU
  417.  
  418.       It  also reveals that God wants to work through His children  AGAINST
  419. the  power  of evil. The battle of the Universe is God against  the  devil,
  420. Good against evil and we must choose which side we prefer. It is impossible
  421. to  dabble  with both powers at the same time. God's Word thunders  through
  422. the  ages,  "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for  what
  423. fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath
  424. light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14 and "Wherefore come out from among
  425. them,  and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;
  426. and I will receive you" 2 Corinthians 6:17
  427.      One of the problems today is that many Christians are unaware of where
  428. the  dividing line is between the things of God and Satan's territory. When
  429. God's  people stray in to those areas that appear harmless but  in  reality
  430. are demonic, it creates all kinds of havoc in their spiritual lives.

  433. The spirit of divination often makes use of mechanical
  434. props such as sand, bones, entrails of a sacrifice,
  435. tea leaves, tarot cards, palm reading, horoscopes,
  436. lumps on the head, ouija boards. planchet, crystal
  437. balls, occult computer games, so-called healing
  438. through charms or magick, levitation, water
  439. witching, automatic writing, occult literature or objects,
  440. hand writing analysis and drugs, etc.

  443.                    WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THESE THINGS?

  445. "Therefore  hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners,  nor  to
  446. your  dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which  speak
  447. unto  you,  saying,  Ye  shall not serve the king  of  Babylon:  "For  they
  448. prophesy  a  lie  unto you, to remove you far from your land;  and  that  I
  449. should drive you out, and ye should perish" Jeremiah 27:9-10

  451.                          WHY GOD HATES DIVINATION
  452.                                      
  453.       God  hates  divination  because  it  leads  people  to  seek  satanic
  454. intelligence  for guidance in their lives instead of God and His  Word.  We
  455. cannot  mix  the  guidance of the Holy Spirit with that  of  Satan  without
  456. getting into problems. Millions of people in our world are doing just  that
  457. when  they  consult their horoscopes instead of God's Word for their  daily
  458. direction.
