Subject: (15) Query: Neuroscience Query from Slovakia
I am looking for people who are interested in neuroscience research.
We have studied changes in the microenvironment in the extracellular
space of the central nervous system in our laboratory, especially various
chemical, mechanical and electric influences (brain insults, spine cord
insults etc.), that lead to neuronal damage and regulatory breakdown.
We are interested in studying changes of neurotransmitters content
(catecholamines and their derivates like dopamine, noradrenaline, DOPAC;
5-HT, ascorbic acid etc.) under experimental conditions modelling some
pathological situations, and also in studying the metabolic processes
associated with the synthesis of catecholamines and the mechanism of their
release, degradation and re-transport back into the CNS cells.
Neurotransmitter content is monitored by voltammetric technique and the
experiments are carried out with rats.
I would greatly appreciate any E-mail contact to people, who do
research in the similar area. haburcak@unpf1.savba.sk
