The Federal Government operates many clearinghouses and
information centers that focus on specific topics. Their
services include distributing publications, providing referrals,
and answering inquiries. Many offer toll-free numbers. The

services. A primary role of the clearinghouse is to identify,
obtain, and disseminate information to community and migrant
health centers. Distributes publications focusing on ambulatory
care, financial management, primary health care, and health
services administration of special interest to professionals
working in primary care centers funded by the Bureau of Health
Care Delivery and Assistance. Materials are available on
childhood injury prevention programs, health education, governing
boards, financial management, sexually transmitted diseases, lead
