o EPP (Enhanced Parallel port)
o Serial
o FDD port
o DC Power
This provides cable management since all cables attach to
this slice and not the IBM ThinkPad 750, 750Cs, 750C, 750P
system. This offers the user a convenient way of connecting
and disconnecting peripherals.
IBM THINKPAD DOCK I
The IBM ThinkPad Dock I is a desktop expansion unit,
commonly called a docking station. It has one full size AT
card slot and one bay. The bay can accommodate slim line
(1") 3.5" or 5.25" SCSI storage technology (i.e. CD-ROM).
The unit is also designed to house the HDD from the IBM
ThinkPad 750, 750Cs, 750C, 750P. All the ports on the IBM
ThinkPad 750, 750Cs, 750C, 750P are replicated; EPP, Serial,
SVGA, Keyboard and mouse.
The Dock I also features a SCSI port, Audio, Speaker, Video
in (for analog to digital optional feature card), FDD, and a
headphone jack. Integrated in the unit are two stereo
speakers. The unit has an integrated handle/palm rest for
easy portability facilitating off site multimedia
presentations.
Page 8 of &custlast.
To further enhance multimedia presentations, there is an
analog to digital optional feature card that plugs into the

charged while the system unit is turned off.
o The car battery adapter may not function on some
European cars.
o The TV Tuner Pack and Analog-to Digital Video Converter
Adapter options are supported by the ThinkPad 750C only.
o When the audio device driver is disabled, periodic noise
will be heard when using some applications (such as IBM
StoryBoard Live). To avoid the noise, it is recommended
to enable the audio feature (audio feature is enabled by
the default setting):
- Enable the audio device by PS2.EXE (DOS) or ThinkPad
Features (Windows 3.1, OS/2)
- Install the audio feature by following the
instructions "Installing the Audio Device Driver" in
the User's Guide.
o The 8516 Touch Screen Colour Display requires the
TrackPoint II to be disabled before connecting it to the
external display connector. To disable the TrackPoint
II (TM), follow the instructions provided in the IBM
ThinkPad 750, 750Cs, 750C, 750P User's Guide.
o The high performance BIOS uses 128KB of system memory.
o The IBM Keyboard/Mouse Connector accessory is required
when attaching an external keyboard to the system via
the external input device port.
o The High Speed PCMCIA Data/Fax Modem V.32bis data
compression is limited by applications that utilize the
Page 25 of &custlast.
BIOS controlling the serial port. Data compression for
applications that do not bypass the BIOS is limited to
19.2Kbps. Many applications bypass the BIOS and allow
data compression approaching the theoretical limit of
57.6Kbps or four times the data compression.
o The IBM ThinkPad 750, 750Cs, 750C, 750P NiMH Battery
Pack has a limited warranty period of one year.
o The IBM ThinkPad 750 CDPD Mobile Communications Module
is not supported on the ThinkPad 750P.
o The IBM ThinkPad Dock I built-in SCSI controller
supports up to five SCSI devices (internal and

SECURITY, AUDITABILITY AND CONTROL
__________________________________
STANDARD SECURITY FEATURES
o Passwords
- A Power-on password (POP) protects the system from
unauthorized use. If a POP is set, the password
prompt appears:
-- Each time the system is turned on
-- When the system is returned to normal operation
from suspend mode
- A Supervisor Password provides a higher level of
security than the POP. The Supervisor Password
protects the system functions from being used by
unauthorized users and protects the hardware
configuration from unauthorized modification. The
Supervisor Password prompt appears:
-- When the hardware configuration is changed
- The HDD Password (HDP) is a new feature of the IBM
ThinkPad 750, 750Cs, 750C, 750P systems. It is used
Page 42 of &custlast.
to protect HDD data. Once HDP is set, data on the
HDD cannot be accessed without the correct HDP.
Because the HDP is stored in the HDD, the data
remains protected even if the HDD is removed to
another system. The HDP password prompt appears:
-- Each time the system is turned on
-- When the system is returned to normal operation
from suspend mode
o The user can use the hook on the hard disk locking
