  5.      1.  EXAMPLES OF UNITY

  7.      A. FAMILY - Unity in Fellowship.
  8.              "Now therefore ye are...of the household of God"
  9.           Eph. 2:19-22 Unity of fellowship is experienced when the
  10.           family submit to God-given authorities.

  12.       B. TEMPLE - Unity in Glory.
  13.              "Ye also,  as  lively stones,  are built up a
  14.           spiritual  house" 1 Peter 2:5
  15.              "In  whom the building fitly framed together groweth
  16.           into a holy temple" Eph. 2:20-22
  17.           God is fashioning, building and fitting together a
  18.           temple to fill with His glory. "A habitation of God"
  19.           Eph. 2:22.

  21.         C. WIFE - Unity in Love.
  22.               "...a man...shall be joined unto his wife, and they
  23.           two shall be one flesh, this is a great mystery: but I
  24.           speak concerning Christ  and the church"  Eph. 5:31,32.
  25.           Being joined in marriage is the highest expression
  26.           of unity in love.

  28.           D. CITY - Unity in Function.
  29.               "He looked for a city which hath foundations, whose
  30.           builder and maker is God"  Heb. 11:10-16.  Known for its
  31.           elevated position, its strong foundations, its
  32.           impregnable walls and its towers for protection, here
  33.           the inhabitants are united in vision, in strength, and
  34.           have unity of purpose and function.  Heb. 12:22;
  35.           Ps. 48:2,12.

  37.           E. BODY - Unity in Life.
  38.               "For as the body is one, and hath many members,
  39.           and all members of that one body, being many, are one
  40.           body, so also is Christ"  1 Cor. 12:12-22
  41.           Each member of the body is necessary, and each has its
  42.           own function, yet each is at liberty to function in its
  43.           own unique way.
  44.              NOTE:   Liberty, NOT Independence. The body is
  45.           IN/TER/DEPENDENT. Members functioning in life, bringing
  46.           unity into life.

  48.           F. ARMY - Unity in Vision and Purpose.
  49.               "And the breath came into them, and they lived, and
  50.           stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army"
  51.           Ezek. 37:10.
  52.           An army is never aimless, but is disciplined,
  53.           prepared and  has unity of vision and purpose.
