PART IV The Dispensational Relation of "Justification by Faith" to
National Israel.
The Apostolic Sorrow for Israel 9:1-5.
And Israel's great privileges.
Has God's Plan for Israel Failed Since Israel Has Not Accepted
"Justification by Faith"?
1st Answer: NO, because God's Purpose is fulfilled in that the
election are saved! Romans 9:1-33
God's election shows:
God's Sovereignty

Of Gentiles - Hosea 1:9,10; 2:23

The Prophets foretold that the election would be
Gentiles plus a remnant of Israel.
CHAPTER X

they have rejected justification by faith. Romans 10:1-21.
Man's Free Will.
1. Israel's mistake - v. 1-4
They close their own righteousness and not God's
righteousness.
2. Moses' testimony concerning these two kinds of righteousness.
v. 5-10. Lev. 10:5 Deut. 30:11-14
3. Justification by faith has been offered to Israel and also
to the Gentiles. v. 11-21
But Israel rejected it.
And the Gentiles have received it. Isaiah 28:16
a. For both - "Whosoever" v. 11-13 Joel 2:32
b. Israel has heard. v. 14-21 Isaiah 52:7
But has not obeyed Isaiah 53:1
Gentiles have obeyed Psalm 19:4
Moses........... Deut. 32:21
Isaiah.......... Isaiah 65:1,2.
The Scriptures foretold that:
National Israel would reject justification by faith and
that the Gentiles would accept justification by faith.
CHAPTER XI
3rd Answer: NO, because Israel's rejection is only partial and not
permanent. (neither total nor final) Rom. 11:1-35
God's Ultimate purpose
l. Only a partial rejection. v. 1-10
a. Paul an example. v. 1
Of those not rejected.
b. Example in the days of Elijah v. 2-4
Also a faithful remnant in those days.
1 Kings 19:10-10
C. Now by grace (the remnant) are saved. v. 5-10
(election)
But the rest are blinded. Isaiah 29:10;
Psalms 69:22-23

a. By Israel's rejection the Gentiles have been blessed.
Salvation v. 13
Reconciliation v. 1
Riches v. 12
Also to provoke Israel to jealousy.
b. By Israel's future restoration greater blessings will
come. (Life from the dead - v. 15) Isa. 59:20
C. Illustrated by:
1. The Firstfruits v. 16a of Num. 15:20
2. The Olive Tree v. l6b-25
a. The Root
b. The Natural Branches
c. The Wild Branches
Israel yet to be restored by faith and cleansing in
the last day revival v. 23,26,27.
The Scriptures have foretold Israel's partial rejection and
future restoration.
Thus the three answers are given from the Old Testament
Scriptures.
