4. Does it edify (build up).
1. INTRODUCING THE HOLY SPIRIT.
NOTE. Tremendous Thought.
Gen.1:26, "Made in God's image"
Jesus recreates us. Gives us the Holy Spirit, not limited by
a human body as was Christ. John 14:16; 14:26; 15:26; 16:7.
NOTE. Rom.8:26-27, the Holy Spirit makes intercession for saints.
Eph.6:18.
The Holy Spirit desires to bless.
Phil.4:19, "supply all your needs"
Rom.8:32, "Freely give all things"
Eph.1:3, "Bless with all Spiritual blessings"

John 7:37-39, "if any man thirst"
- perishing for water

Our body is a temple. 1 Cor.6:19
He dwelleth in you. John 14:17
3. NOW THE WORKING OF THE SPIRIT.
"Out of your belly..." John 7:38, compare with Joel 3:16-18.
Joel, Pentecostal Prophet. Note also Psalm 46:2-5.

BURN! BURN! HOLY SPIRIT!
** A NEW MOVE IS ON **
a. The Holy Spirit has something special for you.
b. God has so much to give, we have so little.
Read 1 Corinthians 12:1.
Question.
"What is CHARISMA?
- Highly gifted
- Warm personality
- Well spoken
Now Read 1 Corinthians 12:1 - "gift of Spirit". Spiritual Gifts.
Word for Gifts is "CHARISMA"
A gift is not earned.
A gift money cannot buy.
A gift given not according to merit.
A gift given by grace.
Samson had "Charisma", but he knew not when God left.
Now don't be like other men. We need to see Jesus as He is.
He sits where we sit.
He feels what we feel.
He is part of our being.
He gives us LIFE.
HE IS OUR LIFE!
HE is against sin because it destroys
HE is against sickness because it reduces life
HE is against fear because it paralyses life
HE is against demons because they bind and kill
HE is against hell - HE is for Heaven
HE is against sin - HE is for salvation
HE is against fear - HE is for faith
HE is against hate - HE is for love
Jesus has life-giving hands. He didn't come to afflict, He came
to bless, to make you whole, to set you free.
Note - Gen.1:1, "The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters"
Gen.1:27, "God created man in His own image."
Gen.3:15, "I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between they seed and her seed, it
shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise
his heel."
Our Redeemer bruised satan's head. God was saying, "Satan you are
defeated. Devil, you are a defeated foe. Jesus will bruise your
head."
John 16:33, "Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

THE HOLY SPIRIT, JESUS AND YOU
Matthew 1:18-20
1. Jesus and the Holy Spirit
2. You and the Holy Spirit
3. Trusting the Holy Spirit (The Comforter)
***********************************
1. JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
Jesus life, miracles etc. done by the power of the Holy
Spirit. John 5:19; 10:25.
Check.
Jesus dependence on the Holy Spirit.
How much more we???
JESUS BIRTH.
Matthew 1:18 - Mary found with child.
Verse 19 - Joseph - husband. Wishes to save
embarrassment and shame.
Verse 20 - Holy Spirit convinces Joseph.
This is a supernatural birth.
Not understood naturally. 1 Corinthians 2:14
Verse 21 - Name - "Jesus".
We need spiritual birth. John 3:3-8.
1. The NECESSITY v.1-3
2. The CONTRAST v.4-8
3. The MYSTERY v.7-8
Without new birth man is:
- BLIND John 3:3
- BANISHED John 3:5
Jesus was God incarnate. At our spiritual birth the Holy
Spirit dwells within. 1 Corinthians 6:19.
JESUS BAPTISM. Matthew 3:
Mark 1:10.
Note John the Baptist words,
"Behold the Lamb of God" John 1:29.
Jesus says, "I have need to be baptised of Thee."
Note Matthew 3:16-17 - the dove, symbol of peace.
Infusion of Spirit Nature - "Peace".
BUT, when we get saved then PROBLEMS.
JESUS TRIAL.
Luke 4:1 - Jesus was led.
Mark 1:12 - The Spirit driveth.
Led & Driven into conflict.
Two stages of Christian life:
1st - Born of Spirit
2nd - Learning to be a disciple
Luke 9:23, "If any man come after me (be my disciple) let him
deny himself, take up his cross and follow me."
Born again in a minute.
Learn to be a disciple takes a lifetime.
Paul says, "I press toward the mark..." Phil.3:3-14
2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought...I have finished..."
JESUS MINISTRY.
Luke 4:14, "Jesus returned in the Power of the Spirit".
From here on Jesus, "went about doing good, ...
God was with him." Acts 10:38.
BY MINISTERING WE OPERATE IN A NEW DIMENSION OF POWER.
JESUS ANOINTING. Luke 4:18
- "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me" (personal)
- "He hath anointed me to preach to the poor"
(spiritual power)
- "He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted"
(bruised, broken, fragmented people)
- "He"
(Jesus came to mend and heal)
********************
2. YOU AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
His new name - a new dimension.
John 14:16 (Comforter) "Paraclete"
Four times Jesus calls Him "Comforter".
John 14:16; 14:26; 15:26; 16:7.
"When" I depart I will send the Comforter.
We don't now have Jesus physical presence with the limitations
of the human form, but the Divine Paraclete.
A further dimension, Romans 8:26-27, "The Spirit Himself
maketh intercession with groanings ... for the saints
according to the will of God."
"With groanings" (tongues) Ephesians 5:18-20
"With intercession for the saints" Ephesians 6:18
The Spirit through your prayers in the will of God in the
mind of the Spirit on your behalf of someone else's needs and
burdens.
The Paraclete becomes all to you that He was to Jesus.
Check.
"My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in
glory by Christ Jesus" Phil.4:19 with Rom.8:32, "...freely
give us all things"
********************
3. PERSONALLY TRUSTING THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Jesus talked a great deal about the Holy Spirit in the latter
part of His life on earth.
John 14:26, "He shall teach you all things and bring all
things to your remembrance."
In three years of teaching, the disciples apparently didn't
learn much.
Check.
Still Dumb. Acts 1:6, "will thou restore at this time the
kingdom"
Jesus words on the way to Emmaus:
Luke 24:25, "O fools and slow of heart to believe"
They didn't grasp much.
Check. Mark 16.
V. 1 - "They came to anoint Him", didn't believe He would
rise again.
V. 8 - "neither said they anything for they were afraid"
V.11 - "when they heard He was alive they believed not"
V.13 - "neither did the residue believe"
V.14 - Jesus upbraided them for unbelief and hardness of
heart.
V.15 - Jesus commissioned them.
JESUS TRUSTED THE WHOLE SUCCESS OF THE GOSPEL INTO THE HANDS
OF THIS UNBELIEVING FAITHLESS MOB.
BUT...
Within 24 hours after receiving the baptism a very different
story...
1st - They received new languages. Acts 2:4
2nd - They understood the person of Christ. Acts 2:30-32
3rd - They understood the convicting power of the Holy
Spirit. Acts 2:37.
4th - They developed Holy boldness. Acts 4:13
5th - They moved in the supernatural. (Rest of Acts.)
"Such as I have, Give I thee"
