  40. ExtraDOS Toolbox is a compilation of tools useful to Microsoft DOS
  41. users.  I originally wrote the first version of ExtraDOS under MS-DOS
  42. because I found a need for them and there were no commercially
  43. available products that provided these functions.  Some ExtraDOS tools
  44. were designed to enhance programs already found in MS-DOS.  Other
  45. tools were familiar to the Unix world, but were not available in
  46. MS-DOS.  Over the years this collection has grown into large group of
  47. very useful tools.  Some of these utilities are duplicates of those
  48. found elsewhere, but often provide much better features or reduced
  49. memory overhead than similar utilities found elsewhere.  In addition,
  50. ExtraDOS complements PC-Tools and Norton Utilities with added tools
  51. these programs do not provide.

  53. Over thirty of the ExtraDOS Toolbox utilities have been selected by
  54. Paul Somerson, former Executive Editor of PC Magazine, for Bantam
  55. Books', DOS Power Tools, 2nd Edition, Revised and Expanded for DOS
  56. 5.0.  Many of the ExtraDOS Toolbox utilities are now appearing in many
  57. popular DOS books that feature shareware enhancements for DOS.

  72.   international treaty provisions. Therefore, you must treat this

  101.   Upon notification of defects in material or workmanship,
  102.   within the warranty period of 45 days from the date of purchase,
  103.   Foley Hi-Tech Systems will, at its option, replace the defective
  104.   diskette or refund the license fee. If you need to return a product,
  105.   call the Foley Hi-Tech Systems Technical Support Service Department
  106.   to obtain a return authorization number. The remedy for breach of
  107.   this warranty shall be limited to replacement or refund and shall
  108.   not encompass any other damages, including but not limited to loss
  109.   of profit, and special, incidental, consequential, or other similar
  110.   claims.

  143.   LASER helps you set your laser printer's mode and also makes it easy
  144.   for you to send some control codes to it.  It is specifically
  145.   designed to work with HP LaserJet Compatible Printers but some of
  146.   the generic functions such as Form Feed, Line Feed and Carriage
  147.   Return will work with any printer.

  210.   PAGEON   This parameter is for use with HP Laserjet users that have
  211.            a Pacific Page Postscript Cartridge installed. This
  212.            cartridge allows you to emulate an Apple LaserWriter
  213.            Postscript printer on your HP LaserJet. Some software does
  214.            not support the Postscript mode, and rather than having to
  215.            power on and off and insert and remove the cartridge each
  216.            time you wish to switch modes, you can use laser to set the
  217.            proper mode of the cartridge.  PAGEON tells the Printer to
  218.            use the PostScript emulation mode.
  219.  
  220.   PAGEOFF  This tells the Pacific Page cartridge functions to disable
  221.            and the printer will now except standard PCL commands.

  224.   STRING=[text]  This parameter allows you to send whatever strings
  225.                  you wish to the printer.  It can be used in
  226.                  conjunction with the ESC parameter to select soft
  227.                  fonts and send setup commands.

  229.   PORT=[port] This parameter lets you set which printer port the laser
  230.               utility should send data to.  The default is PRN.  By specifying
  231.               LPT1, LPT2, or LPT3, you can reroute lasers output to the
  232.               different ports.

  240.   Often we get calls from people asking questions that can be
  241.   solved easily by checking through the manual before calling tech
  242.   support. We ask that you browse the manual and look for information
  243.   pertaining to your particular problem before calling. This can often
  244.   save you time, as we take a collection of our most common questions
  245.   and try to address them in this manual.

  247.   We offer alternative methods besides the conventional phone
  248.   support, such as a multi-line 24-hour BBS system. We also monitor
  249.   most technical conferences in the BBS Interlink and RelayNet
  250.   networks as well as many conferences on the CompuServe
  251.   Information System. You may send messages and questions via any of
  252.   these services.

  254.   Currently our Tech Support office is staffed Monday through Friday
  255.   from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. There is a chance,
  256.   however, that someone is in the office outside this time frame.

  276.   This collection of utilities started out as a small set of home
  277.   grown tools that I just could not stand to live without.  Many times
  278.   someone would see me using them and ask for a copy.  This was a big
  279.   mistake.  All of the sudden I had to debug my code.  Someone would
  280.   call me up and remind me of some problem with a utility that I had
  281.   written or asked me to just add this one little feature.  Six years
  282.   later the package has evolved to its current state.  Along the way I
  283.   have had the help of many people in testing and ideas for products.
