  1. Hello!

  3. This is version 3.2 of FOLD-and-PRINT.  This program allows printing an ASCII
  4. text in multi-column fashion on (probably) any line printer.  Odd, even,
  5. selected pages can be printed and user defined headers/footers can be used.
  6. Line breaking, truncating, breaking with word wrap is possible.  You can
  7. prepare printouts to be used in a binder.  Many other features are possible
  8. and are described in the manual.

  10. All necessary information on using and configuring FOLD-and-PRINT are included
  11. in the manual file FOLD.DOC.  Some less important information are in the
  12. appendix FOLDADD.DOC.  Please read the manual before you start using this
  13. software.

  15. If you hate very much reading manuals run 'FOLD -? | MORE' for the help screen.
  16. Please note however that the help screen will not tell you how to configure
  17. FOLD-and-PRINT for your printer, and you will have to configure
  18. FOLD-and-PRINT, if you printer is not ESC/P compatible (ie.  cannot emulate
  19. some Epson printers).

  21. The package should contain the following files:

  23.     FOLD.EXE    the program itself
  24.     FOLD.DOC    the manual, read if you are new to FOLD-and-PRINT
  25.     FOLDADD.DOC    the addendum to the manual
  26.     DEFAULT.P    the default configuration file (a copy of SMALL.P)
  27.     DENSE.P        cfg file for ESC/P or IBM printers (condensed pitch)
  28.     SMALL.P        cfg file for ESC/P printers (condensed Elite pitch)
  29.     TINY.P        cfg file for ESC/P printers (as above, script size)
  30.     PLAIN.P        cfg file for reformatting ASCII texts (no prn codes)

  33. If you distribute FOLD-and-PRINT, please don't change the original archive
  34. contents.

  36. If you are familiar with version 3.x, see FOLDADD.DOC for a list of changes
  37. (see subsection entitled 'VERSION 3.2'). Please note that there are many
  38. changes, including command-line logic, options names, and cfg file format.

  58.      ...I had just unzipped the file and I printed the fold.doc with my
  59.      old IBM Proprinter.  It is unbeliveable how easy it works (...) now I
  60.      want to give this program to other friends...
