CHORDMASTER 2.0 Sequencing pgm. for guitarists. Registration $ 20.00
SDN_MISC AUG93 IBM MSDOS CHORDMASTER MIDI AXE GUITAR CHORDS SOUND BLASTER
FILES: chord20.sdn
Author: Robert Watson
CHORDMASTER is state-of-the-art chord chemistry software designed specifically
for guitarists. Though it was created with guitarists in mind, the concepts
explored can be applied to a variety of musical instruments. CHORDMASTER is
an invaluable aid and reference, useful for a variety of educational and
compositional purposes.
At its heart, CHORDMASTER is a Chord Chemistry Engine that can present,
display, identify and resolve chords for the user. This new version
introduces a conceptual departure in the computer music world - a music
sequencer that combines traditional guitar tablature with timing, fingering
and tuning information that works with MIDI or sound cards.
Tracks come ALIVE using this program! The user sees the fingering of the
piece in real-time as it is played. Controls are provided (as in a typical
sequencer) to set tempo, tuning, position and other facilities. Making
this program a jamming partner, music teacher; or a way to exchange music!
How are stringed instruments like the guitar handled differently in a
sequencing application? A guitarist can use many different fingerings
and positions to play a piece (some easier than others!), with a variety
of timbral differences.
The True Power of "AXE" Files - Finally, a way for guitarists to exchange
and store music! The "AXE" file stores the fingering, timing, tuning, and
patch information created in the "Tab View" Sequencer/Editor.
Better yet, "AXE" files can be exported or converted to standard MIDI
(.MID) Type I files! Multiple tracks can be created in CHORDMASTER,
exported in the MIDI format, and merged into your favorite standard MIDI
sequencer! Why deal with guitar (or any other tracks!) in a keyboard-based
sequencer if your more comfortable with a guitar fretboard?
Hardware Requirements : IBM PC, PC-compatible or MS-DOS computer w/640k RAM,
MIDI device or ADLIB, Sound Blaster compatible sound card recommended.
