Beethoven's 5th Symphony. All movements.
These MIDI files were snagged from one of the usenet groups...
alt.binaries.sounds.music maybe? That sounds about right...
Anyway, somebody went to a whole lot of trouble to do these. They're
all four movements of Beethoven's 5th symphony.
I voiced them and modified them to play on the GUS. These sound quite
good, I think. However, the polyphonic capabilities of the GUS are not
enough to do these justice, especially the fourth movement. If you use
playmidi, there will be occasional drop outs and notes that sustain when
they shouldn't. I'd recommend using Windows and setting the active
voices to 32. This fixes the problem for me anyway, on a 1024K GUS.
My thanks to... Er... Roberto someone... bert@netcom.com for the
mids, and to Phat Tran for VMAP which did a wonderful job of fixing the
volume problems....

Enjoy! I for one am glad to have the whole thing. I tire of those demo
files from Gravis which stop all of a sudden.
If anyone really likes this, I have a couple of others I'm working on.
I'm having quite a bit of trouble adapting them to the GUS, but if
there's any interest I'll finish up and post them here.
