  9. This tile set is based on the Rider-Waite Tarot, one of the simplest
  10. and most traditional of the tarot decks. The Rider deck contains 22
  11. Major Arcana cards (archetypal figures generally representing large
  12. forces in the life of the person whose tarot is being read) and nine
  13. of these appear in my tile set as "painted" figures:

  15. 0 - The Fool              6 - The Lovers
  16. 1 - The Magician          8 - Strength
  17. 2 - The High Priestess    9 - The Hermit
  18. 3 - The Empress          10 - The Wheel of Fortune
  19. 4 - The Emperor

  21. I've also included a portion of three of the four suits, or Minor
  22. Arcana, from the Rider Tarot. In general terms, the Minor Arcana
  23. represent different aspects of creativity (wands), thought and
  24. communication (swords), and feeling (cups). The Rider deck's fourth
  25. suit, pentacles, which represents aspects of physical or financial
  26. well-being, is omitted from the tile set, along with the aces and
  27. court cards of each suit.  As I continue to experiment with the
  28. TileMaker program, I hope to make another set using the remaining,
  29. higher Major Arcana and to find the best balance between figure and
  30. suit cards. Your feedback is welcome!
