  14.        1        cup   Brown sugar                                       
  15.        1        ea    Egg                                               
  16.        1        cup   Flour                                             
  17.        1        tsp   Baking powder                                     
  18.        1/4      tsp   Salt                                              
  19.        1/4      cup   Nut meats                                         
  20.        1/4      cup   Bran

  22.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  24.     Cream shortening. Add sugar and cream well. Add egg and beat. Add dry 
  25.     ingredients, nuts and bran. Spread in shallow pan, bake about 30      
  26.     minutes, at 350 F. Cut into suqares and roll in confectioner's sugar.
