  1. This version of the IN-2000 ASPI manager (VCN: 461-12.8) has two command 
  2. line switches available: "/s" to enable synchronous transfers and "/d" to
  3. disable disconnect/reselect.
  4.  
  5. The ASPI manager should be installed in your CONFIG.SYS as follows:
  6.  
  7.         DEVICE=d:\path\ASPIDRVR.SYS [/s] [/d]
  8.  
  9.         where d:\path is the drive and directory to which you copied the 
  10.         ASPI manager.
  11.  
  12. You may wish to enable synchronous transfers to gain higher performance with
  13. "synchronous capable" SCSI devices.  However, there are some "synchronous 
  14. capable" SCSI devices (usually CD-ROM drives) that do not handle synchronous
  15. negotiations the same as most synchronous devices.  With these devices, 
  16. synchronous support should remain disabled (default).
  17.  
  18. There are only a few SCSI devices that will not support disconnect/reselect. 
  19. If you have one or these devices, you must use the "/d" switch to disable 
  20. that feature from the ASPI manager.  If you do not disable 
  21. disconnect/reselect with any of these non-supported devices, the ASPI manager
  22. will probably hang durring boot.
  23.  
  24. When the ASPI manager is loaded, the DEBUG diagnostics, the IN2000.EXE utility 
  25. and the CDROM.SYS driver will not work properly.
  26.  
  27. NOTE: The interrupt on the IN-2000 must be enabled (switch 5 left in the 
  28. default "off" position on the IN-2000) for the ASPI manager to load.
