ERIE HAMFEST '93 - Saturday Sept 11 - 8 am to 2 pm
Held on the day before the Butler Hamfest, this years event will be held at
the Franklin Township Firehall (Note: New Location). Activities include VEC
exams, indoor vendors, and outdoor tailgating. Admission is $4. Indoor
tables are $8 with $2 additional for electrical service. Mobile check-in and
directions can be obtained on the 146.61/r. From I-90 Exit 4, go 6 miles
south to Hamfest, or take I-79 to Albion Exit 38, then Rt 6N west 2.5 miles,
then north on Rt 98 2.5 miles to hamfest. VEC exams will be held at the
Franklin Center Methodist Church on Rt 98, 1 mile north of the Hamfest
starting at 9 a.m. For additional information, contact Tom McClain N3HPR,

CLEVELAND HAMFEST AWARDS BANQUET - Sat Sept 25 - 7 p.m.
Once again this fabulouss feast will be held at Dimitri's Restaurant, 1803
Snow Road (just west of Broadview). The menu will be BBQ Ribs and Chicken,
Roast Beef, or Boston Scrod. Cost is $15 and includes all the trimmings.
Following the dinner will be presentations of "Ham of the Year" awards by the
various clubs and organizations. Reservations with menu selection are an
absolute MUST and need to be made by Monday Sept 20th. Contact Nan N8HSE at

CLEVELAND HAMFEST AND COMPUTER SHOW - Sunday Sept 26 - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea will again be the site of the best
hamfest in the Cleveland area. Features include lots of indoor vendor space
and outside flea market and tailgating area. Forums include Ham Radio for
Youths and New Hams, DOS Tuneup, ARRL Forum, and DX Forum. DXCC/WAS and CQ
DX/WAZ QSL card checking will also be available, courtesy of the Northern Ohio
DX Association. ARRL/VE Amateur License Exams will be 100% walk-in and will
begin at 2 p.m. The specific location will be announced at the Hamfest, or
stop by the main prize table. You will need the original and a copy of all
licenses, a completed form 610, photo id, and a check for $5.60 payable to
ARRL/VEC. Non ham activities include demos, craft tables, bingo, and prizes.
General Admission is $5.00 ($4.50 advance). Children under 12 are free.
Indoor vendor 8' tables are $20 ($14.50 before Sept 18th) and include one
general admission. Outside Flea Market is $4 per space + admission. Prize
drawings will be held throughout the day. Winners must be present except for
the main prizes. To get there, exit I-71 at Bagley Road, go west 1 mile to
Eastland Rd (you will not be able to use the Bagley Road entrance), then south
to the entrance (there will be lots of signs). Talk-in will be on 146.19/r-
