  4. On Saturday October 2, 1993 at around 4:30 pm., one of my son's
  5. best friends, Stephanie Monn, was last seen riding her bike
  6. around our neighborhood, and ever since, my sons and many other
  7. children miss her very much. I too, miss her very much.
  8.  
  9. When she would come to our house and play with my son, she would
  10. also want me to participate in their games. A tough little cookie
  11. she is, somewhat of a tom-boy, and always with a beautiful
  12. disposition, and a smile. A free spirit type of girl she is, and
  13. now our lives have an immense void since we can't hear her
  14. laughter and see her smile, or her boyish-frisky type of walk.

  16. All of our neighborhood knows her. There isn't one person she has
  17. not stopped to talk to, even for five minutes. No matter the
  18. subject (but especially fishin'), she enjoys talking with you,
  19. and she listens to us "old" ones with great attention, but also
  20. with a little skepticism in her eyes. That's because she doesn't
  21. take anything for granted.

  23. I sit in front of my computer, and I wish I could go back in time
  24. and stop whatever it is that is keeping her away from us now. I
  25. see her mother and father quietly cry, and also her sister and
  26. brother.

  28.  Perhaps you have read of her on the newspaper (Philadelphia
  29. Inquirer, Gloucester County Times, Courier News, etc.) or perhaps
  30. you have seen the news on TV (Ch.3, Ch.6, Ch.10, Ch.29), and
  31. perhaps you as a parent or just as a human being have felt the
  32. pain and anguish that her parents and all of us who love her feel
  33. for her.

  35. But besides us adults, there are also many kids; her friends from
  36. school and neighbors, that quietly go to bed thinking of her
  37. every night, and quietly shedding a tear because they miss her. I
  38. know this, because I see my son "C.A." and his brother Julian
  39. quietly talk of her, and quietly say that perhaps Stephanie won't
  40. come back to play with them.

  42. There are two GIF files along with this README file. They are
  43. pictures of Stephanie. All I ask from you is to Upload this ZIP
  44. file in its entirety to as MANY BBS's as you possibly can; and
  45. also, to keep an eye for her.

  47. You see, we don't know if she drowned in the nearby creek
  48. (affluent to the Delaware River), or if someone has taken her
  49. away. And, of course, we hope she is still with us.
  50.  
  51. As a fellow BBSer I ask you to help us out so our children (and
  52. us) can enjoy her company and laughter again.
