  6. KinKard is a Shareware Program which may be distributed
  7. in unmodified form (placed on BBS's) to anyone who wishes to evaluate it.
  8.  
  9. KinKard is a genealogy database designed to store information
  10. about family history. For each family group, the information is
  11. divided between two records, one record contains family lineage(parents,
  12. children) while its companion record contains family data(birth death
  13. notes). The program prints these records to two files, which can be
  14. manipulated in a word processor to print (in two passes) lineage on one
  15. side of a card and family data on the back of that card.
  16. The program contains the usual features for adding records, editing
  17. and searching them.

  19. Although full featured, the unregistered version has a trial period (20
  20. records) which can be repeated as often as desired. This limitation is
  21. deleted in the registered version. The number of records is dependent on
  22. disk space. The number of names that can be sorted is dependent upon
  23. memory available. The program includes a feature for displaying memory
  24. used for this purpose. The registered version includes a standalone
  25. utility that can be used to combine files.   With this utility records for
  26. each family can be kept in  separate files and copies of these files can
  27. be combined into one large file.

  29. To start the program, type "kin" at the prompt.  The menu appears.
  30. "H" Help provides all of the instructions needed to run the program.
  31. The program is easy to learn and use.

  35. There is no warranty expressed or implied as to the suitability of
  36. KinKard for any express purpose.  As with any software, it is
  37. impossible to guarantee that all incompatibilites have been
  38. discovered and corrected. By registering KinKard, you are purchasing
  39. a single user license to use the program.  No registered copies may
  40. be distributed to any potential user.  The Shareware (Unregistered)
  41. version may be distributed in unmodified form to anyone wishing to
  42. evaluate it and may be placed on BBS's for this purpose.
