  1.  SIMUDRIVE uses tractive effort (TE) curves from a range of sources, mainly
  2.  the railway press. Where more than one curve per class has been found, the
  3.  real curve as opposed to the theoretical curve has been used. In some cases
  4.  more than one curve may be supplied for added interest.

  6.  For EMUs, curves may be provided at different supply voltages. For 25 kV
  7.  AC units, the 22.5 kV curve will be more realistic, as the supply voltage
  8.  will rarely reach the nominal value. For 750 V DC units, the 675 V curve
  9.  will be more realistic for the same reason.

  11.  The sending in of TE curves and route details (gradients, speeds etc.) is
  12.  warmly appreciated, and helps to expand the SIMUDRIVE data library. Please
  13.  include the source, plus any other details. The author has an extensive
  14.  library of TE curves already, but any curves the author does not have are
  15.  especially welcome, and will result in a free copy of the data files for
  16.  that curve being posted to the sender. You are advised to check whether the
  17.  author has the curve already to avoid disappointment. Curves that can't be
  18.  used will be returned along with an explanation. Thank you.
