  7.       Program Overview
  8.  
  9.           PM System is a computerized maintenance management system used to 
  10.           schedule equipment for regular maintenance activity.  Tasks are 
  11.           assigned to selected equipment to be performed at various times 
  12.           of the year.  Standard tasks are provided, but custom tasks are 
  13.           easily created.  Unscheduled maintenance and repairs can also 
  14.           have work orders generated and tracked for completion.  PM System 
  15.           is not limited to equipment but can be used as any type of 
  16.           monthly scheduled activity.

  18.           This computer driven preventive maintenance management system was 
  19.           developed and written by a maintenance engineer with over 20 
  20.           years in facility management.  Simplicity of operation was a key 
  21.           factor in the design of the program.

  23.           PM System is suitable for  commercial, institutional, hospital, 
  24.           condominium, asset management, real estate, or other operation 
  25.           which has a need to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance 
  26.           and/or inspections functions.

  28.           PM System works in the DOS environment and also as a DOS 
  29.           application under Windows.  The operation is easy the light bar 
  30.           menu.  Documentation can be printed from the utility menu.

  32.       Installation

  34.                           A:>  type  INSTALL   <enter>  key
  35.  
  36.           Set the default drive to the drive and path that PM System files 
  37.           are in.  Type INSTALL then <enter> key.  Screen instructions will 
  38.           provide additional information.  The program is best with a hard 
  39.           drive but will work on a floppy with over 600,000 bytes available.  
  40.           PM System is installed to C:\PM1 and also creates C:\PMTSK for 
  41.           task and document files.  A startup batch file PM1.BAT is placed 
  42.           in the root directory of C:\  drive.  The drive and directories 
  43.           can be changed during the installation process.

  89.           This software is not freeware.   It is distributed on the 
  90.           shareware principal of trying it for a reasonable time (usually 
  91.           30 days) and if you continue using it, obtain a registered copy 
  92.           (see ORDER.TXT).  This shareware version is not "crippled" by 
  93.           limiting the data base size.  "Nag" screen displays have been 
  94.           included in the shareware version to encourage registration.

  96.           A registered version may have additional features.  Most 
  97.           programmers are never satisfied they keep adding and improving. a 
  98.           registered version will have the latest whistles and bells.

  100.           Distribution of this shareware version is encouraged provided it 
  101.           is complete and unaltered.  Vendors are not permitted to charge 
  102.           for the software without expressed written permission from the 
  103.           author.  Vendors may charge no more than $7.00 for handling the 
  104.           redistribution.
