  3. The Capital Area Sysop Association (CASA) is an association of
  4. SysOps from the Washington, DC metropolitan area designed as a
  5. social organization to provide a group of SysOps access to one 
  6. another for assistance with hardware and/or software questions.
  7. The organization invites speakers from the computer industry to
  8. address the group on a monthly basis.  If you are a SysOp and 
  9. would like to meet many of the other SysOps in the area, this is
  10. an excellent place to do so.  Please visit one of our meetings.

  12. The Capital Area Sysop Association (CASA) meetings are held on the 
  13. second Saturday of each month at an appointed location.  Should that 
  14. date fall on a national holiday, then the meeting is held on the 
  15. third Saturday of the same month.  Meeting times are 1:00 PM until
  16. 4:00 PM.  Exceptions to this schedule are posted on our host BBS as
  17. messages in both the Main and CASA conference.  We normally have a 
  18. guest speaker for each meeting.

  20. There is no admission fee.  All meetings are open to current members 
  21. and guests.  All legitimate Sysops are invited to attend a meeting as 
  22. our guest to preview the content.  Non-members are encouraged to join 
  23. CASA to receive the benefits associated with membership.

  25. The membership fee is a one-time payment of $ 10.00.  The monthly dues 
  26. are only .50 per month.  Mail your membership fee of $ 10 and your 
  27. monthly dues of .50 per month (our year starts on January 1st) to:

  33. Membership includes a monthly newsletter, other mailings as needed, access 
  34. to the private CASA conference on The Virginia Connection BBS, access to 
  35. our monthly meetings and access to members who can (and will) assist you 
  36. in your times of need.

  38. Our host BBS is a 20 node system and can be accessed by both members and 
  39. non-members.  This BBS is located in Reston, VA and the telephone number 
  40. is a local metropolitan Washington, DC number:  (703) 648-1841.  Once you 
  41. register, you will receive access to most of the nodes - a couple of nodes 
  42. are reserved for RIME, FIDOnet, ILink, and SmartNet mailruns, etc.

  47. Meetings held in the odd months (Jan, Mar, May) are held at 
  48. CHI CHI's restaurant in Springfield, VA.

  53. South.  Take the first exit into downtown Springfield, VA.  Drive 
  54. about two blocks and immediately upon going under the overpass 
  55. turn right into their parking lot.
