  6.                     I swim in perfect circles
  7.                     with lilypad princes
  8.                     a-bow before me, until ripples
  9.                     pop my glide:
  10.                     my crystal slippers crack aglow.
  11.                     
  12.                     Do not touch me,
  13.                     I have risen from my cross.
  14.                     Its timbers sigh, and howls
  15.                     issue from every crevice,
  16.                     creaking in the remembrance
  17.                     that I have nailed its hands,
  18.                     bound its feet: its wood
  19.                     not virgin.
  20.                     
  21.                     Under cover's night
  22.                     I hurry cruise past Circe's farm
  23.                     through the forest to the meadow
  24.                     where Furies' graze
  25.                     where Sirens echo.
  26.                     
  27.                     Riddled with stares and stars,
  28.                     I plow my haunted soil anew,
  29.                     no turning back, nor mourning;
  30.                     again the dogwood grows in doubting rain.
  31.                     My seed is pain,
  32.                     I lack the hoe to weed it out.
  33.                     
  34.                     I am my prince; I rule myself
  35.                     as if I were a fawn to no hunter
  36.                     way past my afternoon.
  37.                     Not speed, nor arrow in no quiver
  38.                     may deliver me
  39.                     for swans do not soar in Everafter
  40.                     but know to avoid the banks
  41.                     where Furies mingle with the rabble.
