  9. Please think about your concept of written authority throughout
  10. your life, the times when your concept or understanding changed, 
  11. and the basis of the authority behind the writing.  
  12.  
  13. For example, a fundamentalist Christian may believe the
  14. authority of the Bible is based on the inspiration by the Holy 
  15. Spirit.  
  16.  
  17. A Mormon may believe the authority of the Book of Mormon 
  18. is based on the revelation given to Joseph Smith.  A person 
  19. with a New Age belief system may trust in the authority of The 
  20. Urantia Book, based on the channel and the spirit entities which 
  21. produced it.   An officer who lives for his/her military career 
  22. may be dedicated to Military Code based on the authority of the 
  23. military organization, tradition, and discipline.
