Survey 11 Your Guiding Principles
Your response is sought for possible use in the Guide. Please
write out your "guiding principles" or the "rules you live by."
The first PRISM chart shows components of Belief Systems, and
"Statement of Belief/Guiding Principles" is one component, while
"values" are part of the "Actions of Faith." The poem "If" by
Rudyard Kipling is an example of "guiding principles" or a "code
of conduct," and it also expresses certain values (as do most such
statements.)
If
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
