  6. New Version "Stands Alone" From Computer Bulletin Board Systems

  8.         RIVERSIDE, Calif., August 26, 1993 -- Integrated
  9. Solutions, Inc., a commucnications software company based here,
  10. has introduced Version 2.0 of ModemBase Pro, a database design and
  11. display program newly enhanced to work with both computer bulletin
  12. board systems (BBS) and as a standalone on-line software product.

  14.         Integrated Solutions announced Version 1.0 six months ago
  15. as a third-party application for BBSs and the new version remains
  16. compatiable with most popular BBS software programs. No BBS is
  17. required, however, to use the new version of the software. With
  18. ModemBase Pro, the user can now easily configure most PC-based
  19. computers to answer modem calls and log the caller directly into
  20. the database or menu of available databases.

  22.         "The new version was driven by prospective customers,"
  23. said Troy Getty, Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Solutions.
  24. "We were frequently asked for a product that would allow users to
  25. place on-line a product-and-services catalog or knowledge database
  26. without the additional log-in steps of a BBS package."

  28.         ModemBase Pro allows system operators (sysops) to create
  29. custom- designed databases and then incorporate the database into
  30. their available on-line services. The new version features a Turbo
  31. Vision interface providing a simple, mouse-controlled Windows-like
  32. working environment. The sysop can completely customize any dBase
  33. III-compatiable database for on-line usage, whether derived from
  34. an existing database or created from scratch.

  36.         Version 2.0 also supports the new Remote Imaging Protocol
  37. (RIP) graphical interface. RIP, from Telegraphics, Huntington
  38. Beach, Calif., is the emerging graphical standard for the BBS
  39. industry. RIP allows sysops to add colorful graphic elements,
  40. borders, buttons and animation to their screen displays.

  42.         With Version 2.0 of ModemBase Pro, users can also
  43. customize American National Standards Institute (ANSI) color
  44. graphic display forms commonly used in the on-line BBS
  45. environment.

  47. ModemBase Pro Supports Digiz Protocol For Multi-Port Boards
  48.  
  49.         ModemBase Pro now provides support for Integrated
  50. Solutions' own Digiz protocol, designed for use with DigiCHANNEL
  51. intelligent serial cards from DigiBOARD USA, Eden Prairie, Minn.,
  52. as well as most multiport cards, including standard serial.
  53. Installation of the multiport cards permits multiple call-in lines
  54. on one 386/486-based PC.

  56.         Digiz is a complete external communications protocol
  57. replacement, supporting all DSZ-compatiable commands (DSZ is the
  58. command set for the BBS-industry standard Zmodem communications
  59. protocol.) Sold directly by Integrated Solutions and selected
  60. distributors, the Digiz protocol also includes a terminal mode for
  61. dial-out capabilities.

  63.         Integrated Solutions also made ModemBase Pro easier for
  64. the sysop to use by consolidating the number of internal programs
  65. required to create a complete database management system. Version
  66. 1.0 comprised three programs, but version 2.0 features only 2
  67. programs -- Modem Base MASTER and Modem Base Access. The former is
  68. used to configure a database and the latter is used to bring the
  69. database on line.
