  7.     No matter how fast your system is, you always are looking for a bit
  8.     more speed. Intel has a processor which in many cases works in
  9.     conjunction with your current processor. Or, if not, it will replace
  10.     it with the Intel OverDrive Processor.

  12.     OverDrive comes in a 169 pin PGA pinout for use in a i487
  13.     coprocessor socket, or a 168 pin PGA pinout for those without the
  14.     socket and replaces the current processor. It has a heatsink built
  15.     on to the processor.

  17.     OverDrive Processor utilizes Intel's new "speed-doubling" technology
  18.     to upgrade your Intel 486 SX or DX CPU-based system to the same
  19.     performance level as an Intel 486 DX2 microprocessor. Once installed
  20.     you will see upon boot-up, or when you run programs like Norton's
  21.     Utilities, that the system in fact does see it as a DX2-66 MHz CPU.

  23.     I have been using OverDrive for several months now. I have the chip
  24.     that replaced the CPU. Several times I replaced the OverDrive with
  25.     my 486DX-33 chip. I did notice a VAST difference in performance. It
  26.     would be akin to having a cache program and then disabling it. You
  27.     do notice the difference. In the case of the OverDrive it was much
  28.     more evident, especially when running Windows, OS/2, and other
  29.     intensive programs.

  31.     I ran System Information from Norton Utilities v7.0. Using 486DX-33
  32.     I had a reading of 72.0. Using OverDrive the reading was 127.3. I
  33.     also ran WinTach with a BOCA SVGA X3 video card. The overall rating
  34.     with DX-33 was 5.07, and with OverDrive was 7.28.

  36.     I have since upgraded to a VESA Local Bus motherboard. Using a Local
  37.     Bus video card, and OverDrive, really makes my system fly.

  39.     OverDrive will accelerate all software from AutoCAD to WordPerfect.
  40.     It is fully compatible with all operating systems--DOS, Windows,
  41.     OS/2 and UNIX.

  43.     I was so pleased with the performance of OverDrive, that I have
  44.     refused to remove it from my system.
