  7.     How many times have you wished you had more than 8 characters to
  8.     describe a file? Sherlock utilizes 254 character file descriptions.

  10.     Installation of Sherlock is quick and painless. However, before you
  11.     can use Sherlock with a supported application to import previously
  12.     created files, you must create and save a test file.

  14.     Sherlock seamlessly replaces the Windows Save and Open dialog boxes,
  15.     allowing you to access Sherlock's file cabinet. Here you have many
  16.     options from which to search: Document Type, Contact, Dates, Full
  17.     Text Search and more. Sherlock can be used by individuals as well as
  18.     across networks, and supports Novell Netware.

  22.     * Full text search to find a document that contains a specific word
  23.       or set of words.

  25.     * Control of both the 8 character DOS filename and 254 character
  26.       description of Sherlock.

  33.       Sherlock program and data files are stored.

  35.     Sherlock, as mentioned, performs seamlessly. But, for the times when
  36.     you wish to use the standard options of Windows, to open or save,
  37.     you can select the Override option of Sherlock, to have your system
  38.     act as though Sherlock is not present. It also allows you to move
  39.     files into and out of the Sherlock environment. Utilities are also
  40.     provided for finding and inspecting Sherlock-stored files while
  41.     working in DOS.

  43.     Sherlock is compatible with Adobe Illustrator; Aldus Freehand,
  44.     PageMaker, Persuasion and PhotoStyler; SPC Harvard Graphics; Corel
  45.     Draw, Chart and Presents; Lotus 1-2-3, Ami Pro and Freelance;
  46.     Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Notepad, Write and Paintbrush; NBI
  47.     Legacy; Ventura Publisher; Wordstar for Windows and WordPerfect for
  48.     Windows.
