- CRT TERMINALS
-
- A number of popular CRT terminals, listed on next, are supported by
- ROOTS/M. If your terminal is not on the list, ROOTS/M has provided
- a program named INSTALL.COM on the distribution disk which will allow
- you to prepare a custom CRT terminal interface module.
-
- To be recognized by ROOTS/M and before the program can be run, the
- terminal interface module which matches your terminal must be named
- COD.NRM. In most cases this has been done for you and the proper
- terminal module is on your distribution disk. In cases where the
- computer system does not include a terminal (most S-100 systems) the
- driver has not been installed and you will have to REName one of the
- modules on the distribution disk. Please see ROOTS/M manual (page 9 )
- for detailed instructions on renaming the interface module. If you
- use INSTALL.COM to prepare a custom interface, the COD.NRM module
- will be created automatically.
-
- The program INSTALL.COM will ask you a series of questions about your
- terminal, the answers to which can be found in your terminal operational
- -technical manual. The characters which your terminal will recognize for
- such functions as cursor addressing must be entered into the INSTALL
- program as HEX values. Be sure to back up your disk prior to using
- INSTALL. The program will create a new COD file and erase the old one.
- Also, be sure you are comfortable with answering questions regarding
- your terminals's cursor control codes in HEX before operating INSTALL.
