- (PART 2 OF LESSON 10)
-
- For many words that you add to the dictionary you would like
- Perfect Speller to recognize only those words which differ by a
- suffix or prefix. What a bother if you had to add into the
- dictionary every form of every word that might appear! Perfect
- Speller takes care of that for you.
-
-
-
- If you are entering a word that takes different forms
- (tax, taxation, taxing, taxable, surtax, etc.), each of which
- differs only by a suffix or prefix, enter the `Root' of the word
- into the dictionary. Perfect Speller will append many common
- suffixes and prefixes to this root when it checks the spelling of
- your document. To enter the root of a word into the dictionary,
- select the Perfect Speller command 'R' from the menu. (For a
- further discussion of this feature, see your Perfect
- Writer/Perfect Speller User's Guide.)
-
-
-
-
- Do you remember that when Perfect Speller finished checking
- your document, it asked:
-
- Scan list of unrecognized words now <Yes>?
-
- At that time you answered: NO. Perfect Speller can save you
- a great deal of time by allowing you to preview the unrecognized
- words before viewing them in the context of your document. If
- you answer Yes to this question, Perfect Speller will present an
- alphabetical listing of the words it did not recognize. When
- scanning this list, you have the same command options as when
- viewing them in context:
-
- A (ADD a word to the dictionary)
- I (IGNORE the `mismatched' word)
- C (Mark the word so you can CHANGE it later)
- R (Enter the ROOT into the dictionary)
- E (Mark the words and EDIT the words in context)
- ? (Help)
-
-
- As a final point, we should say that Perfect Speller can
- also be invoked by selecting the "Spelling check" option from the
- Perfect Writer Main Selection Menu. Once begun, the operation is
- the same as outlined in this lesson.
-
- This concludes Lesson 10, the last lesson in this set of
- lessons designed to acquaint you with Perfect Writer. For more
- information be sure to consult your Perfect Writer User's Guide.
