  3.                          PAMS BASIC INFORMATION

  6.     Are you sick of rumaging around in a pile of old magazines trying to
  7. find the latest PAMS listings ? Maybe you're tired of having to load an
  8. editor or word processor to search through the list you have on disk for
  9. that elusive number ? Do people abuse you when you call them at 1am expecting
  10. to log on to a BBS ?

  13.     If you have answered YES to any of there questions , READ ON.......

  16.     WHAT does PAMS do ?
  17.  
  18.               Basically PAMS is a self contained data base of all the current
  19. Australian BBS's,RCP/M's etc.After extracting PAMS to a suitable disk (I keep
  20. mine on my A drive as it only occupies 16k and is always there), type <PAMS>
  21. and you will be presented with a simple prompt. For starters type in the name
  22. of your favourite BBS (or just a couple of letters will do). The screen will
  23. now display (after typing return) ALL currently listed BBS's with that name
  24. or combination of letters.
  25.     You may also type in STD area codes,parts of phone numbers or even modem
  26. speeds,such is the versitility of PAMS.Obviously the more information you
  27. provide the more selective will be the search. Typing just <0> for example 
  28. will display EVERY listed for the WHOLE of Australia !!!! 
  29. Whilst typing <EXCALIBUR> willlist only one.

  36.     At this point I must give credit to Joe Wright who wrote the original
  37. code (called AREA10) that this current program was adapted from.And also
  38. his willingness for this to be re-distributed in this form.
  39.     If you change any of the main body of code (.ASM supplied) please
  40. resubmit to him.You may do this, if you like,via ME by any of the

  58.                                  WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE

  62.     Given some encouragement (and not too many complaints) I will continue
  63. to update PAMS at monthly intervals or whenever "THE PROPHET SPEAKS".

  65.     Planned improvements include : Addition of "ACCESS" status
  66.                                    Addition of "NETWORK" numbers
  67.                                    Maybe even some code changes to
  68.                                    make the searches more selective
  69.                                    and a general clean up.
