To access the pull-down menus, press Alt-M, where M is the first letter of the menu name. To select a command from a menu, press the highlighted letter for the command you want.
If you have an LCD screen, the default color palette may not work well for you. Try using the BW or MONO parameters when you run this program. At the MS/DOS prompt, type: X

Classes (Alt-C)
The Classes menu includes commands to:
Make a new class
Open an existing class
Save the current class to disk

Make Class (Alt-C M or F2)
The Make Class command allows you to create a new class.
You will be asked to:
Enter a class name (up to 28 characters)
Select trimesters or quarters
Select various grading options
Enter category names and weights
Enter student names
Open Class (Alt-C O or F3)
The Open Class command allows you to open an existing class. q
A dialog box will list the classes and sub-directories in the current directory. To open a class saved on disk: t

Save Class (Alt-C S or F4)
The Save Class command saves the current class to disk.
The class will be saved using its current filename. If this is a new class, you will be asked to provide an MS/DOS filename for this class.
Edit Class (Alt-C C)
The EDIT CLASS command allows you to change class names and options. 4

Edit Letter Grading (Alt-C L)
The Edit Letter Grading command allows you to change the cutoffs used to assign letter grades to percents. 0

Edit Grading Options (Alt-C G)
The Edit Grading Options command allows you to change options used when computing student grades. 1

Next Term (Alt-C N or Ctrl-PgDn)
The Next Term command moves into the next term in the school year. m
This command allows you to start entering assignments in the next trimester or quarter in your school year.
Prev Term (Alt-C P or Ctrl-PgUp)
The Previous Term command moves back one term in the school year.
This command allows you to change a score from the previous trimester or quarter in the school year. Student letter grades will be updated to reflect any changes you make.
Students (Alt-S)
The Students menu includes commands to: ]
Add a new student to the class
Drop a student from the class
Edit a student's name
Add Student (Alt-S A)
The Add Student command allows you to add a new student to the current class.
A dialog box will appear: t
Enter a name for this new student
Press ENTER to accept this student, or
Press ESC to cancel this command
Student names will be sorted into alphabetical order whenever you add a new student. %
A class may have up to 40 students.
Drop Student (Alt-S D)
The Drop Student command allows you to drop the displayed student from the class. P
A dialog box will ask you to verify that you really want to drop this student: G
Press Y to drop this student, or
Press N to cancel this command
Be careful: there is no way to recover dropped students or their scores!
Edit Student (Alt-S S)
The Edit Student command allows you to change the displayed student's name. <

Assignments (Alt-A)

New Assignment (Alt-A N)
The New Assignment command allows you to add a new assignment to the gradebook. '

A name for this assignment
The points possible (enter 0 for bonus)

If you accept this new assignment, you will be asked for a score for each student in the class. A

Drop Assignment (Alt-A D)

Be careful: there is no way to recover dropped assignments or scores!

The Term Summary command prints a report summarizing student grades for the current term, including: c
Percent of points possible
Letter grade for this term
Breakdown by letter grade of class
Year Summary (Alt-R Y)
The Year Summary command prints a report summarizing student grades for the entire school year, including: v
Letter grades for each trimester or quarter
Letter grades for each semester
Final letter grade for the year
Student Scores (Alt-R S)
The Student Grades command prints a report detailing student scores on every assignment, including:
Score and percent on each assignment
The percent correct in each category
The overall percent correct
A letter grade for this term
This report can be quite long!
Missing Assignments (Alt-R M)
The Missing Assignments command prints a report listing students missing assignments this term, including:
The name of each student missing an assignment
The name of each missing assignment
The points possible for any missing assignment
Missing bonus assignments are not listed in this report.

Letter Grade Cutoffs (Alt-C G)
The Letter Grade Cutoffs dialog box allows you to change the cutoffs used to assign letter grades to percents. .

This option determines whether grades are computed based on total points earned, or based on a weighted average of the percent correct in each category. t
