A former secretary at a well-known Chicago-based law firm was awarded $7.1 million in punitive damages against the firm and a lawyer she accused of sexually harassing her. A Superior Court jury in San Francisco ordered the payment to Rena Weeks, 40. Weeks, who worked at Baker & McKenzie in Palo Alto, Calif., said lawyer Martin Greenstein dumped candies in a breast pocket of her blouse, touched her breast, pulled her arms back from behind and said, ╥Let╒s see which one (breast) is bigger.╙ Greenstein denied Weeks╒ accusations. He resigned from the firm in 1993. Baker & McKenzie ╥rejects the implication that it tolerates personal or professional misconduct of any type,╙ said John McGuigan, chairman of the firm╒s executive committee. The firm will appeal.
