Like it or not, the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys are back in the Super Bowl, meeting Sunday in Atlanta for Instant Replay I.
Buffalo beat Kansas City 30-13 for the AFC championship Sunday, and Dallas beat San Francisco 38-21 for the NFC title to set up a repeat of last year's Super Bowl XXVII, won by Dallas 52-17.
Said Buffalo quarterback Jim Kelly: "To the people who don't want us there - sorry."
The Bills are the first team to play in four consecutive Super Bowls, but they're also the first to lose three consecutive.
"In the beginning of the playoffs, I don't think a lot of people wanted us back," Kelly said. "Now that people realize what we've accomplished, I think they're for us."
Dallas is one of six teams to play rematches in the Super Bowl but, until now, they were distant replays.
The Pittsburgh Steelers beat Dallas in Super Bowl X and Super Bowl XIII.
The San Francisco 49ers beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XXIII.
The Washington Redskins lost to the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl VII but beat them in Super Bowl XVII.
USA TODAY sports analyst Danny Sheridan says the Cowboys are 10-point favorites, citing the NFC's nine consecutive Super Bowl victories, Dallas' huge win against Buffalo in last year's Super Bowl and Buffalo's three consecutive Super Bowl losses to the point spread and to NFC East teams.
When asked what he hoped to change this year, Bills coach Marv Levy said, "The result."
Said Dallas coach Jimmy Johnson: "I expect this to be a great Super Bowl."
Dallas quarterback Troy Aikman suffered a concussion against San Francisco. He was taken to Baylor Medical Center for observation, but team physician Robert Vandermeer said Aikman should play next week.
