  1. TITLE:   Courier Displays Incorrectly in Full Page View

  5. PROBLEM:

  7. Text in Adobe Type Manager Courier 8 point type displays incorrectly in full 
  8. page view.
  9.  
  10. SOLUTION: 
  11.  
  12. Adobe Type Manager (ATM) does not scale the Courier screen font below 9 point. 
  13. Without a reduction in the size of the screen font, text display in a small 
  14. percentage working view or in full page view will be too large for the image 
  15. of the page.
  16.  
  17. A workaround to this screen display problem is to remove the line reading 
  18. Courier=Courier from the [Aliases] section of the Windows ATM.INI file.  NOTE: 
  19. Removing this line may cause text in other applications that use the Courier 
  20. screen font to display too small.  One such report is that text in the View 
  21. Pane mode in Norton Desktop for Windows displays too small with the 
  22. Courier=Courier line removed.  When other applications are affected, the 
  23. Courier=Courier line can be added back to the ATM.INI file.  In these cases, 
  24. follow the section titled HOW TO ADD THE COURIER=COURIER LINE.

  26. HOW TO REMOVE THE COURIER=COURIER LINE

  28.  1. Run the Windows Notepad program.
  29.  2. In Notepad open the file ATM.INI (located in the directory where the 
  30.     Windows program is installed).
  31.  3. Choose Search / Find.
  32.  4. Type [Aliases] and choose OK.
  33.  5. Touch the DOWN arrow until the line reading Courier=Courier is reached.
  34.  6. Delete the line.
  35.  7. Choose File / Save.
  36.  8. Press ALT + F4 to close Notepad.
  37.  9. Exit Windows completely to the DOS prompt, then reload Windows.

  39. HOW TO ADD THE COURIER=COURIER LINE
  40.  
  41.  1. Run the Windows Notepad program.
  42.  2. In Notepad open the file ATM.INI (located in the directory where the 
  43.     Windows program is installed).
  44.  3. Choose Search / Find.
  45.  4. Type [Aliases] and choose OK.
  46.  5. Touch the DOWN arrow to place the insertion point below the heading 
  47.     [Aliases].
  48.  6. Insert a line that reads Courier=Courier.
  49.  7. Choose File / Save.
  50.  8. Press ALT + F4 to close Notepad.
  51.  9. Exit Windows completely to the DOS prompt, then reload Windows.
