  1. Using Logitech Mice under Windows 3.0:

  4. Using the Logitech Plus Driver for Windows 3.0:
  5.  
  6. The Logitech Plus driver is included with MouseWare 5.0 and above. It will 
  7. work with all models of the Logitech Mouse, and gives three button 
  8. functionality to Logitech Bus and PS/2 type mice.  If the Plus driver has 
  9. been installed from MouseWare, or the Logitech Mouse/Windows bundle is being
  10. used, continue to select the Logitech Plus driver for the mouse.  Check the
  11. MouseWare documentation for the different settings available when using the
  12. Logitech Plus Driver.
  13. If you have an earlier version of the mouse software and do not wish to 
  14. upgrade, the following selections will also work:

  17. Series 9 Serial Mouse, Series 7 Serial Mouse
  18.  
  19. The proper selection for the Series 9 Serial Mouse and Series 7 Serial Mouse
  20. is Logitech Serial Mouse.  If the mouse does not respond after making this 
  21. selection, try the following:
  22.  
  23.     1. Reboot your system with NO Memory Resident Software
  24.  
  25.     2. Run SETUP and select "Logitech Serial Mouse"
  26.  
  27.     3. Load the Logitech DOS Mouse Driver
  28.  
  29.     4. Run Windows

  32. MouseMan Serial Mouse, Dexxa Serial Mouse
  33.  
  34. All MouseMan mice are shipped with the Logitech Plus Driver. We recommend 
  35. that you install this driver for optimal performance. However, if you have a
  36. Dexxa Serial mouse or simply opt not to use the Logitech driver, the proper
  37. selection for the MouseMan Serial Mouse or Dexxa Serial Mouse is Microsoft 
  38. Serial Mouse.  If the mouse does not respond after making this selection, 
  39. try the following:

  41.     1. Reboot your system with NO Memory Resident Software
  42.  
  43.     2. Run SETUP and select "Microsoft Serial Mouse"
  44.  
  45.     3. Load the Logitech DOS Mouse Driver
  46.  
  47.     4. Run Windows
  48.  
  49.  
  50. The following commands should be used for loading the mouse driver for 
  51. Logitech Serial mice:
  52.      
  53.     If the mouse is on COM1 use the command: MOUSE SER
  54.  
  55.     If the mouse is on COM2 use the command: MOUSE SER 2 
  56.

  61. If the problems persist after following the above guidelines, try the 
  62. following:
  63.  
  64.     1.  Switch off the computer and then take out all extra hardware 
  65.             devices (such as internal modems, fax cards, tape backup units,
  66.             etc.)  This should eliminate an IRQ conflict.  
  67.  
  68.     2. Follow Steps 1 through 4 from above.
  69.  
  70. If this solves the problem, then one of the removed devices is set for the 
  71. same IRQ that the mouse is using.  Add the cards back one at a time until 
  72. the problem is reproduced and then check the device documentation on 
  73. switching IRQ settings.

  75. If the symptoms continue, inspect the serial board for aa large chip in the 
  76. center of the card with the word WINBOND on it. This is a problematic 
  77. chipset that can cause Windows to be unable to initialize the mouse 
  78. properly. Replacing the serial card with another brand should solve the 
  79. problem.

  82. Logitech Bus and PS/2 Mouse with Windows 3.0
  83.  
  84. The proper selection for Logitech Bus Mice is Microsoft Bus or PS/2 Mouse.  If the mouse does not respond after making this selection, try the following:

  86.     1. Reboot your system with NO Memory Resident Software
  87.  
  88.     2. Run SETUP and select "Microsoft Bus or PS/2 Mouse"
  89.  
  90.     3. Load the Logitech DOS Mouse Driver
  91.  
  92.     4. Run Windows
  93.  
  94. If the problem persists, check to make sure that there is no other device 
  95. using the same IRQ as the mouse (check the mouse documentation for available
  96. IRQ settings).

  99. Relationship between MOUSE.COM and WINDOWS 3.0:
  100. MOUSE.COM is not needed to run the mouse with Windows.  MOUSE.COM should be 
  101. loaded in the memory if you are using mouse-based applications under DOS.  
  102. We recommend loading the DOS driver before running Windows.
