  2. Notes on LORVAD¬  (formerly Printers Devil) fonts:
  3. These fonts have been converted from PostScript type1 format to TrueType
  4. format. You will need the TrueType software inits and System 6.07 or System
  5. 7 in order to use them.       OxNard is an outline shadow font with irregular
  6. sizing and erratic baselines. As a display font it works at 25 pts or larger. 
  7. Sizes above 50 pts are preferable. Caps only. Not kerned.  ShareWare $10  
  8. DownWind is a semi psychedelic calligraphic font.  Works at 20 pts or larger.
  9. Nice for posters.  Contains upper & lower case and numbers.  Not kerned. 
  10. ShareWare $10     BellBottom is a display font evocative of '60's poster art.
  11. Try it at 24 points or larger.  Looks best at 40 pts or larger. Contains
  12. upper & lower case, numbers and a few special characters. Not kerned.
  13. Shareware $10.     Medusa is based on the familiar Art Nouveau font Broklin.
  14. It's a display font that looks great at 12 points or larger. About 170
  15. characters and 100 kerning pairs are defined.     LoopDeLoop is a fun display
  16. font.  Its uppercase characters are based on the font Bee Line. They have a
  17. stroked effect simulating a continuous line, looped to create each character.
  18. The lowercase characters are a solid variation on the shape of the uppercase.
  19. This set contains only about sixty characters. There is minimal kerning.
  20. Looks nice as an opening decorative capital.  Shareware $10.
  21. Albatross is a text body font with a moderately short x-height.  The relative
  22. point size is a bit small (i.e. 14 point is closer to what most people would
  23. consider 12 point).  It contains all the regular characters and many special
  24. characters.  Shareware $10.     
  25. Judas is a display font patterned on Adobe wood type Ironwood (which is
  26. patterned on an old wood type).  It contains only caps, numbers, and a few
  27. special characters.  It seems to look best at 16 points or larger.  Very
  28. interesting negative space  It is shareware-$10 (or thirty silver dollars if
  29. you want us to feel guilty).     Current LORVAD fonts include: Bodidly Bold,
  30. Oswald Black, Oswald Grey, BlackForest, InkaBod, CartWright, Judas,
  31. Albatross, LoopDeLoop, Medusa, BellBottom, DownWind, and Oxnard
  32. These fonts are NOT demos.  Unless noted they contain all the regular
  33. alphanumeric characters. Most contain an assortment of special characters.
  34. Fonts contain ╥hinting╙; usually over one hundred kerning pairs are defined.
  35. Bodidly Bold and Oswald Black look great in small or large sizes.
  36. BlackForest and Inkabod are designed without any curves.  With one or two
  37. exceptions all angles are multiples of 45 degrees.  BlackForest has an old
  38. world German feel.  It seems to look best about 24 points.  InkaBod is based
  39. on the bitmapped font Nordic. On the LaserWriter it looks great at 14 points
  40. and above.  On the ImageWriter, try it at 18 points and larger. CartWright
  41. is inspired by the Adobe wood type Ponderosa font.  It contains only the
  42. basic 90+ characters.     There are one or two bitmap screenfonts imbedded
  43. in the suitcase along with the outline font. These screenfonts are just your
  44. basic Fontographer-generated characters with minimal touchup.  TrueType
  45. technology will generate screenfonts as you need them.     LORVAD¬ fonts are
  46. distributed in the spirit of shareware.  Try them out for a month.  If you
  47. decide to keep any of these fonts you are required to send a $10 per font

  50. them.  Maryland residents should include 5% sales tax.Because of the
  51. relatively low price we ask that you send in the shareware fee even if you
  52. have registered the same typeface in type 1 format.     These products may
  53. be distributed freely as long as the following conditions are met: The files
  54. may not be modified and this notice must be included with each font or group
  55. of LORVAD¬ fonts; Fonts may be included on collections of Public Domain and
  56. Shareware disks providing that no more than $10 is charged for the disk.  
  57. Distribution by electronic BBS is allowed.     If you paid for a disk with
  58. any of these fonts you are still required to send in your registration fee
  59. if you decide to keep them.The Bottom Line:  We will continue to release
  60. laser fonts in a non-crippled format as long as there is a fair response to
  61. the registration fee.
