  13.     How to use SWOTLCRK.EXE
  14.     -----------------------

  16.     Run SWOTLCRK before each invocation of SWOTL (easiest from a batch
  17.     file).   It installs as a small TSR  which waits for SWOTL to be
  18.     executed.   It then  patches memory  to disable the protection
  19.     code.   No  modification  of  the  SWOTL  programs  on  disk  is
  20.     required, and SWOTLCRK does not write to the disk.  If SWOTLCRK is
  21.     successful, a beep will be  heard  from  the  speaker  shortly
  22.     after starting SWOTL.

  25.     Tested configurations:

  28.     SWOTLCRK  has been tested with the soundblaster and speaker-only
  29.     configurations of SWOTL on a 486/66DX2.  It is not known if
  30.     it  will work with other sound configurations or slower CPU's,
  31.     but  it won't hurt to  try.  SWOTLCRK won't  make any changes to
  32.     memory  unless it finds what it is looking for in the expected
  33.     place.
