  5. I am currently testing a program I have written for hot-seat multi-player
  6. Masters of Magic via the save game files.  The program modifies no Microprose
  7. files other than the save game files, and involved no disassembling or
  8. otherwise viewing of any Microprose files other than the save game files.

  10. My question is: do I need your permission to distribute this program as
  11. either shareware (with a registration fee) or public domain (completely
  12. free), and, if so, do I have it?  I have no desire to violate your rights
  13. under copywrite law, but I don't know what the laws are.  The program would
  14. of course contain numerous statements about its not being written by
  15. Microprose, not being supported or recommended for use by Microprose,
  16. Microprose having absolutely no liability for any damage it might do, in no
  17. way suggesting it might work, etc.  Judging from the comments on this board,
  18. your customers would appreciate being able to use this program.
