- FIXING A FLAT TIRE
- text/0/38
- By far the most common
- failure is a flat tire. Prepared
- with some practice, you can fix a
- flat in minutes. If you have never
- done this before, the place to try
- it is not on the road. Get a
- yard-sale junker bike and practice
- fixing it's flat tires several
- times. If it's tires aren't flat,
- puncture them with a sharp object.

- Removing a Front Wheel
- text/330/61
- Let out any remaining air in
- the tire. Remove the axle nuts.
- They unscrew counter-clockwise,
- like the lid of a pickle jar.
- Many bikes also have some safety
- devices or plates under the axle
- nuts, which you should remove
- also. Remove the wheel, being
- careful not to damage the front
- brake pads.
