  7. energy  expended.  We are also the
  8. most efficient  machine  on  earth
  9. using  the same criteria. However,
  10. bikes  must  be  a  compromise  of
  11. weight,  expense  and  efficiency.
  12. Therefore, they  are  fragile  and
  13. need frequent adjustment.
  14.    Why pay the high-school kids at
  15. the  bike  shop  $20 or more every
  16. time your bike needs  a  tune  up,
  17. when,  with  just a little reading
  18. and practice you can do  a  better
  19. job  yourself?   Why  pay the kid,
  20. when it is fun to do it yourself?

  35. 4) Bearing cone wrenches
  36.   (approx. $6 at bike stores)

  38. 5) Oil, grease and cleaning
  39.    solvent (kerosene recommended)
  40.  
  41. 6) A couple of screwdrivers
  42.  
  43. 7) A freewheel remover (maybe)
  44.  
  45. 8) Patience - This is the most
  46.    important thing.
