PRONOUNCIATION
In Spanish, the vowel e is spoken like the ay in the english word play.
The word tres (3 in spanish), would therefore be pronounced like the
english word trays (the waiter brought 5 trays). The vowel u, rhymes
with you. The vowel o, in spanish, is like in the english word toe.
When you see the letters ua together, pronounce them like the wha in
the english word, what. The vowel i, when combined with a consonant, like
in the spanish word for yes, si, rhymes with see or bee or me. By putting
together some of these rules, you can see how the word seis, or 6, is
pronounced (say-ees). Pronounce the letters lla as yah.
PROUNOUNCIATION
When you encounter the vowels ie together, you should pronounce them
like the ye in yes or in the spanish word for 10 = diez (dee-yay-z). The
letters ce or ci, when found together sound like the english words say
and see ,respectively. The word for eleven is once (ohn-say).
