  1.      This file contains a set of downloadable soft fonts for the
  2. Hewlett Packard LaserJet Series II and compatible printers. The
  3. fonts are all of the Palatine typeface. Included are upright,
  4. upright bold, italic, and italic bold in 8-, 10-, 12-, 14-, 18-,
  5. and 24-point sizes. Also included are printer resource (PRS)
  6. files for Word Perfect 5.1 with these fonts already installed.
  7. Two PRS files are included, one for the LaserJet Series II
  8. (LJSIIPAL.PRS) and one for the LaserJet IIP (LJIIPPAL.PRS).

  10.      To use the fonts with Word Perfect, first copy all of the
  11. font files (the files that end with the extension SFP) into one
  12. directory on your hard disk, e.g., C:\fonts. Then copy the
  13. appropriate PRS file into the directory containing your Word
  14. Perfect Program, e.g., C:\WP51. Next start Word Perfect. To
  15. install the printer resource file, follow these steps:

  17.      1.   Select "Print" by pressing Shift-F7.
  18.      2.   Press "S" to select printer.
  19.      3.   Press "A" to choose additional printers.
  20.      4.   Press "L" to list printer files. If you copied one of
  21.           the PRS files to your Word Perfect directory, its name
  22.           will be in the list on the screen.
  23.      5.   Highlight the name of the new PRS file and press "S" to
  24.           select it.
  25.      6.   Press F7 to exit. You will now see a screen of
  26.           information about the newly installed printer. You will
  27.           need to indicate the name of the directory containing
  28.           the Palatine font files.
  29.      7.   Press "D" to select the downloadable font path name and
  30.           type in the name of the directory containing the font
  31.           files.
  32.      8.   Press Enter to return to the printer select screen.
  33.           Press "S" to select the newly installed printer.

  35.      To select the Palatine fonts after the PRS file has been
  36. installed, press Ctrl-F8 for Fonts, and then "F" for base font.
  37. The list of all fonts available in this PRS file will appear (the
  38. list contains the built-in fonts and the Palatine soft fonts.)
  39. Highlight the name of the font you wish to use and press Enter.
  40. When you print the document, Word Perfect will automatically
  41. download the font from your hard disk to the printer.

  43.      The PRS files included here are set for automatic font
  44. changes, so if you change font appearance (e.g., italic or bold)
  45. or size (e.g., subscript or large), Word Perfect will
  46. automatically download the required font, you do not need to
  47. change the base font.

  49.      The font files included are in portrait orientation only.
  50. For LaserJet IIP can automatically rotate these to landscape
  51. orientation. However, the LaserJet Series II cannot do this, so
  52. you will be unable to print with these Palatine fonts in the
  53. landscape orientation.
