This disk contains many fonts for First Publisher. Remember that all font
files with the ARC extension need to be UNARCED (uncompressed) before using.
The file NEAT.ARC contains the following:
Bubbles comes in 14 & 24 point sizes. Cirth comes only in 48, and looks
like something out of Lord of The Rings. Eon is 12 points. Future comes in
9, 12, 18, and 24 points. Ham comes in 14 points. Hollywood is a 24-point
font. Lineal is 18 points. Music allows you to create musical scores: the
A through G keys correspond to notes on the musical scale, and the different
point sizes represent different types of notes. Rangers is 18 points.
Runes comes in both 12 and 24 points. Tiny is labelled 12 points, but is
actually smaller in size.
Additional fonts include:
Happy Canyon
Provo (Indian symbols--not sure what tribe(?))
Playbill- What every THEATRE ART MAJOR needs for those posters.
DALI --Futurist looking font
KLINGON --Sure, as a devoted trekker you can speak 27 dialects of KLINGON,
but can you write it? Now you can....Might check the KLINGON dictionary
that came out somewhere around 86/87 for a translation table. Or ask Spock.
The two fonts in the font file, Fantaste! and Morgan, were both uploaded to
CompuServe by Eric Baldwin. Eric himself created "Fantaste!", and "Morgan"
was created by John Morgan. If you should wish to send Eric an Easyplex, his
User ID is 73317,2043. He has graciously given permission to share his
fonts with users of the Software Publishing forum on CompuServe.
Both fonts are "picture fonts" like Cairo. That is, each keystroke gives you
a picture instead of a letter or number. Both fonts are filled with "fantasy"
pictures. "Morgan" is a font of Dungeons and Dragons symbols, especially
monsters. "Fantaste!" includes a lot of other nice fantasy symbols, such as
castles, knights, etc.
There are two MAC format files included in this ARC file, which serve as
"keys" to the two fonts. The file FANTASTE.MAC was done by Eric himself, as
a key to that font. It was originally a Macpaint file, and converted very
nicely to First Publisher MAC file format. The other file, MORGAN.MAC, is one
for reference in using the font. Note that in the font MORGAN, not every key
is implemented. Either of these two files can be read into First Publisher
by using "Get graphics" from the file menu.
The Fingerspeller Font shows the alphabetic characters in the sign language
for the deaf. The only keys on your keyboard that are implemented are the
alphabetic ones--no numerals or punctuation.
This font was created by Chuck Frame, a speech pathologist. The font is
shareware: if you like it and decide to use it, you must send $10 to:
