  73. TAPCIS.EXE        The TAPCIS main program. Includes all program modules in a
  74.                   single executable file (it does not use overlays).
  75.

  78. Parameter and Help Files
  79.  
  80. PARAMS.CIS        TAPCIS parameters include your user ID and name, disguised
  81.                   password, phone numbers, selected forums, modem commands,
  82.                   colors, and disk paths. If you create alternate parameter
  83.                   files, they will all use the PARAMS filename with a
  84.                   different file extension.
  85.  
  86. TAPCIS.HLP        Context sensitive help file. It is in ASCII format and can
  87.                   be printed as a quick reference if desired.
  88.  
  89. USERID.CIS        TAPCIS address book. A few examples are included in this
  90.                   file. If you edit this file outside of TAPCIS, be sure to
  91.                   save it in ASCII format. Comments in the file start with
  92.                   <space><|>. User names are in parenthesis in the comment
  93.                   section. One address per line, and postal addresses are not
  94.                   supported.

  96. RATES.CIS         File containing current CompuServe rates for use with the
  97.                   time accounting function (STATS.EXE).
  98.

  100. Script files
  101.  
  102. PARAMS.SCR        Sets the CompuServe parameters to those required by TAPCIS.
  103.                   It is used once for each baud rate (since CompuServe keeps
  104.                   parameters independently by rate) by going online with the
  105.                   <Alt-P> command. 
  106.  
  107. SPRINTnn.SCR      Logon scripts (where nn=12 for 1200 bps and 24 for 2400 bps)
  108.                   for the GTE Sprint communications network. Sprintnet can be
  109.                   used for access to CompuServe at a higher surcharge than the
  110.                   CompuServe network with generally lower throughput. You
  111.                   indicate that a phone number is a Sprintnet number by
  112.                   putting a period <.> after the phone number.
  113.  
  114. TYMNET.SCR        Tymnet is also an alternative network. An exclamation point
  115.                   <!> after the phone number tells TAPCIS to use this script
  116.                   to sign-on.
  117.  
  118. LATANET.SCR       LATA numbers are another way to connect to CompuServe. They
  119.                   do have a higher surcharge than a CompuServe connection. Use
  120.                   a colon <:> after the phone number to indicate a LATA
  121.                   number.

  127. TAPCIS.SCR        User defined logon script (optional). Use an underscore <_>
  128.                   after the phone number. You can develop a login script to
  129.                   handle almost any gateway into CompuServe including ones
  130.                   overseas.
  131.  
  132. DPC.SCR           This is a sample script for Canadians to login through
  133.                   DataPac (put _DPC after the phone number). Use the P command
  134.                   line option with DataPac.
  135.  
  136. INFONET.SCR       Use this login script with CSC/Infonet by putting _INFONET
  137.                   after the telephone number on the parameters screen.
  138.  
  139. CIS.SCR           An alternate way to login to a CompuServe node that is not
  140.                   recognizing the ^C to start the login. (Put _CIS after the
  141.                   phone number).
  142.  
  143. MANUAL.SCR        Script for manual login to CompuServe. You can put _MANUAL
  144.                   after the telephone number. After the connect string is seen
  145.                   (or immediately if the connect string is NONE) this script
  146.                   will allow you to use whatever commands are necessary to get
  147.                   to the User ID: prompt. Press <F7> at that point and TAPCIS
  148.                   will take over.

  150. PHONES.SCR        A script for calling a toll free number
