  1. FOUR-WAY BAPTISM

  3. "Four-way baptism makes ecumenical history." This was the title of a 
  4. news report issued by the National Council of Churches concerning what 
  5. it called "the first multi-denominational baptism service since the 
  6. Protestant Reformation." The one-and-a-half-hour service held at the 
  7. Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento included 
  8. participating bishops from the Roman Catholic Church, the Episcopal 
  9. Church, the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of America 
  10. (Oriental Orthodox), and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  
  11. Each of four children was baptized in his or her own Christian 
  12. tradition, according to this report, "but under one roof, in the water 
  13. of one font, knit together by one liturgy, celebrated in the power of 
  14. the Holy Spirit, by one people." A woman leader of the NCC spoke at 
  15. this ecumenical baptism and was quoted as saying, "As you grow older, 
  16. you will come to appreciate the richness of God's gift, given to you 
  17. today, and you will remember that we are one family:  Orthodox, 
  18. Anglican, Roman Catholic, and Protestant, with an extended family of 
  19. all who believe." A religious Tower of Babel is being constructed by 
  20. religious apostates, and God's people should have nothing to do with 
  21. it!
